ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

trying to match my stereo together

so i am looking for a new head unit and i want to know where i should start to choose my new head unit. i have 5.25 in infinity ref speakers in the front 6X9 in pioneer in the rear but i am planning on changing those to infinity ref. i also have a sony xplod 12 in sub with i 600 watt dual amp. i dont know all the things i should look for in a head unit to run all those speakers at a decent sound level.

one more question has any one ran the two door speakers and 2 rear speakers off of a small amp after the sound came out of the head unit???

i mean all stereos do the same thing for you, some just do it better. i personally love alpine, others have their preferences. i have run pioneer before and it was decent. I like my sony xplod head unit i have now though, i like the fact it displays the name of the song. and im sure many people have run speakers to an amp. my speakers are technically running off an amp to power my subs because i dont have rca's in my headunit.

My speakers are amped, but I don't have a choice. My HU puts out 0x4W
Pioneer would be a good choice. Try to get a mid-level model.

It all depends what kind of head unit. Some have USB/Aux and some have HD Radio. I sticked to keenwood because they lasted me so long. My Friend did that on his car with the speakers on the side. That's because he replaced them with kicker speakers on the sides. Required bit more wattage

I would recommend a Alpine, Pioneer, Kenwood in that order. It really gets down to how much money you have budgeted.Look at Crutchfeild. they have some good info. Good luck.

I would recommend Pioneer over Alpine over Kenwood... But I don't intend on using any of those brands anytime soon. Like sonikaccord, I have an Eclipse headunit that puts out 0 x 4 watts

I would go to your local audio shops, even Walmart, and look and touch all the headunits. Then find which one suits you best.

I would go to Wal Mart, laugh, walk out, and flip them the bird on the way out lol. There is nothing in the car audio section of a wal mart that is what we call "good". Some of them have some random pioneer headunits, but not really anything good.

if you want some good afforable audio equipment, i would go to onlinecarstereo.com i order from there all the time and there a pretty trust worthy website. and the prices are cheap. at the most for a good head unit from there will be about 150. but thats the most. well at least for a simple single din radio.

I'd go to caraudio.com, diyma.com, or caraudioclassifieds.org, and hit up their classifieds section. Find a used headunit, you can get really good stuff for decently cheap.

                            Pioneer

I would have liked to swap my Pioneer for my Apline in my CB. Pioneer is more user friendly... especially for an Iphone or Ipod.
