umm yes u do need ps when u have 3 feet of snow on the ground. but ac on the other hand i dont need as it dont work anyway

You mean after your alt has killed your amp, and then the alt has failed? Then you'll need to buy a new amp AND an alt.

I'm talking about a sub...I'm running 1500rms give or take some 200w will not make a difference.

what plug the green one ?
if anything just hook one up and just bolt the power wire that would go to audio set up if so u should get a cap and second battery seeing how the second alt would just run the amps keep the head unit wired into it useing the alt that would be runing the car

Where are you getting the number 200 from? The "extra juice" that a HO alt will put out? That's more than 200 watts...

ho is a abbreviation for high output, its pretty well known. Pontiac has engine, 3800 Series II L36 SFI HO. Or the Ford 5.0 HO, I'd say its proper English.

To the OP,a high output alternator is not the answer.You need to look at a list of things before you just swap a part.

Check your engine grounds,battery cables,cars battery,What size amp wire are you running?

I want to know what kind of equipment you have and if you have a volt meter to monitor your voltage. I have a 165 amp alt, big3, redtop in the front, XS power battery in the rear and when I still had my Orion xtr pro2400, it would go down to low 12's on full tilt. I've killed alternators because of systems before. I can almpst guarantee that you're not getting the power you should from your amps if all you're feeding it with is a stock alt.

So how big is your capacitor?

the alternator is what supplys all your cars electrical demands and once u go over what that alt can produce it starts to drain on the battery

Do you understand that if your amps pull enough current to drain your battery and your 80 amp stock alt can't replenish it in time, you'll kill the alt because it's overloaded? Read something, you might learn a little.
