ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Distribution block fuse blowing

I'm running a distribtuion block since I have 2 amps for my sub and the door speakers. The sub is a T110D2 and with it I have an older rockford fosgate amp which runs at 500 watts at 4 ohms and 1000 watts 2 ohms. The way it the sub was wired up seemed to have been at 1 ohm but I rewired it to a 4 ohm load because the fuse on the block kept blowing before I did that today. My main question is if this was caused because I may have been drawing too much power or what other cause it could be before I blow something up

What size of power wire are you using? 8 gauge, 4 gauge, 2 gauge or 0 gauge?

Your amp was drawing more current than the fuse was rated for.

The power wire is a 4 gauge I believe.

I was looking to get a bigger fuse but wasn't sure if that was a good idea... Plus I couldn't find a bigger fuse than a 5v60a at the time

So is it safe to run it at the original ohm load and with a bigger sized fuse?

Are you going to run the sub at 1 ohm?

I wouldn't recommend it. Would you rather blow a 2 dollar fuse or your amp?

It would be nice to run it at 1 ohm because at 4 ohms it sounded like I was just getting bass from the door speakers and I didn't get the T1 again to hear that Or is there a way to wire it up to lets say a 2 ohm load and run it like that? I did the wiring from rockfords wiring wizard and they only show how to do a 1 ohm and 4 ohm load

Don't run the sub at one ohm unless that amp is 1 ohm stable. If it is, you up your fuse amperage in the distribution block only.
