ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    sub positioning

what is the best position for your subs to sit in your car?

and is it better to have a gutted car or complete interior?

complete interior to keep road noise to a minimum, and subs facing out of the trunk is better for acoustics, but its hardly noticiable.

Complete interior for less reflections and sub facing the trunk for less phasing issues.

I would add, mount the box if you like to hit corners at all or just in general. It's not a good feeling to hit a corner fast and set in just to have the box move and change the weight/

i actually was thinking of mounting my sub in the middle on top here the trunk supports the rear window; but using a base tube instead.

subs facing outwards towards the opening of the trunk. personaly i stripped evrything out of my trunk and dynamated evrythin even the inside top part of the rear deck. solid sound. way heavier but its all good im more of a cruiser.

it really comes down to your preferences, so give it a shot, when you try sub into the cabin, just be sure to seal off from the trunk. Typically spl wise itll be louder to seal off from the back of the trunk, port on the drivers side shooting into the cabin.

It is not preference, you will get a better quality sound if you have the subs facing backwards, and the bass will hit harder as it reflects back.

You don't want em facing into the car at all, it just kills the sound quality

Even if you want them strictly for SPL most people have found that by facing them backwards they get better output. However position in the trunk does seem to have a slight effect on total output, but that can only be measured with an SPL meter, its that small of a difference.

Gut the interior then build a wall and find out.
Sig removed due to excessive size.
