Door Speakers

Ok so I was told that 6" -6.5" speakers can fit in the doors. The factory speakers are about 4" . How do you fit 6's in your doors?

the factory speaker are 6.5 inches in LX and DX models
and I believe the EX has 5 inches.

Get DX or LX speaker pods out of a DX/LX out of the junkyard.

my fronts only measure 5.25" across...which makes them the 5" speakers...yet I have the lx

you're not going to be able to unless you cut the holes bigger to fit the speakers, the fronts are like 3.5-4 and the backs are like 6-6.5

all you have to do is remove the factory pods..if you have an ex or se, take the pods off and bolt them onto the door..thats what I did..

that is in no way true..the factory speakers are 4.5 in ex and se models, but can be replaced with 6.5 inch speakers..and the rears are 6.5, on lx and dx models, but if you find some ex or se pods you can fit 6x9 in the back..please dont spread false info..

my speakers fit pretty tight (5.25") in my LX...I do not see how you could fit 6.5" speakers in there

its the same hole for the 6.5 as the lx.

If you have a magnet clearence issue cut out the back of the basket pods.

I done it all the time at circuit city. 6.5 FTMFW

Ok so I need a ex or dx speaker pod which is much bigger..because I would've never figured that out.

hmmm...well my front 5.25" put out pretty good sound, wish I could find some good 2-way 6x9's though...seems all I can find are 3way's

any 6.5'' pod is the same.

If im not mistaken i think even the civic 90-94 front door pods are the same all the way up to 2001 accords.

if I dont have a pod I just screw it in as long as the magnet doesnt hit the window.

Yea, I didnt measure. I got new speakers and my windows dont go all the way down

So I guess Ill put the old ones in.

whoa dude! don't put the old ones on just yet. measure how much space you need for the windows to go down all the way and get a ring spacer!! the speaker grill cover on the door panel has room to protrude into.
