ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

You Can Use 6.5 On The Doors Just Make Sure You Get Them With Low Clearence/low Profile So That The Magnet Doesnt Bother U Once They're On, Again Ebay Has Them Real Cheap For About 23 Buck With Free Shipping. And They Definately Sound Great... That Unless You Want Compitition Speakers That Range From 70 Bucks To About 200 Bucks On Ebay In Which Case I Would Strongly Recommend Component Speakers In 6.5 Also...hope This Helps...good Luck

When I put 6.5" component's in the front of my 92 lx I had to cut the back of the pod off to allow for magnet clearance. Other than that they went right in. I then found some 6x9 pods at jy and replaced my rear's with the 6x9. All very easy to do, only takes a few min (6x10mm bolts) and the rear pods are free. In the front pull the door panel and the pods are only a couple bolts from freedom. The pods are interchangeable, but like I said to get magnet clearance I had to remove some plastic from the pods. Was easy just used a razor to create stress lines and then used pliers to snap the plastic at the points I cut. I went with some Quantum Audio 6.5" components and they sound incredible for being so inexpensive.

just take a piece of 3/4" mdf cut a ring and mount it in place of the stock speaker mount you can mount your speaker to this.

I drive the Canadian EX-R and it only has 4.5 in the door pannels! Im thinking that if I swapped some 6.5 LX pods or whichever I find that has them il be just fine? Cause there's plenty of room to expand into the cloth speaker cover.

                    thats what everyone is saying.

all ex's came with 4'' but is swapable.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I've got 6.5's all the way around. The backs of the front pods are cut off.

you dont think the stock ex/se speaker pod/box would help with making a good sound? i have 5.25" that sounded good but the back gets dusty and the back solder broke loose, im putting my stock speaker pod/boxes back in and am looking for 4" to put in. i want them to be clean and not get dirty/damaged. at least i hope the sound will be good in the pod/box and 4" are cheaper :P

you could always make a wooden bracket for behind the speaker so that the window can still come down. i was able to fit 8" speakers by doin that.
                                hope that helps.
