ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Changing out rear speakers

I have been considering this for a while. I was wondering if anyone else has done this.

I replaced the factories a few years back with the same size. However the last few years I have been thinking off and on going with 6x9s. I already have them from another car I used to own. Has anyone else done this yet?

Everyone and their mom has already swapped their rear speakers.

If you have an LX, you have 6.5 rear speaker pods. EX and SE models have 6x9 rear pods. To install 6x9 speakers, if you don't already have an EX or SE model, all you have to do is find a pair of 6x9 speaker pods. They bolt right up onto the rear deck.

If you have a DX, you won't have speakers in the rear from the factory, and you must cut into the rear deck to install speakers (and speaker pods).
    My pictures/photos will return soon...

you can also just modify the ones you have its not that hard just have to make sure to line it up right so that the magmet sits in the right spot.

the holes for the rear speakers arent that big you would have to cut the holes bigger but than you also run into the issue of the depth of the speakers as well because i tried and the backs of the speakers were hitting my trunk rod...

Ok dude I understand the 6x9's but I have to ask, why exactly did you mount the amp on the rear deck as well And are your RCA's run through the key hole?? I was staring at this picture for a while and an idea popped into my head. Just a suggestion but what do you think of getting a piece of like 1/4" hardboard and cutting it around your speaker pods, 6x9's and amp and maybe applying a thin carpeting with some spray adhesive and dropping it in to cover everything else up?? I know this is kind of random but I thought of it so I figured I would ask Anyhoo I still like the set up and I bet it sounds pretty damn good
