ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I want cleaner sound rather than more power. Is it possible?

I have been modding my computer sound card for over a year now. I modded the Soundblaster Xtreme Music with new high quality Capacitors and this filter cap allow my sound card to sound very clean and all the instruments can be heard where as before it did not exists b/c the X-FI is design for games and not music. Now it can play music much better. I also change out op-amps on the sound card. I could not get over the big jump in SQ with the simple mod. Now I need better tweeters to hear the mod better.

Now I was thinking if this modification can be done for car amps as well. I don't need a lot of power but I really want very clean sound instead. So I think if I change out the caps to better audio quality caps, that would make the amp sound much cleaner. What do you guys think? Has anyone done this?

    Thanks.

never heard of doing that jus always added tweeters to the whole system and if u want clean sound no bass then why add a amp to the system in first place get u some good quality Highs & Mids and leave the Lows out of the math. Thats jus my opinion.

On car amplifiers you have an option to cut your low frequencies or cut off your high frequencies called Low pass and high pass filters. Cut under 100Hz you get Less bass which= Cleaner sound and vice versa.

You actually need more power for a cleaner sound. No changing the caps in the amp will give you minimal gains. You should attack the source unit first if you want to mod what you already have. Then you need to focus on your installation And your components.

Edit: He doesn't need to cut out the bass...that's the most important part of the music. He just needs to balance his speakers and not have over exaggerated frequencies.

I meant cut the bass to a certain point so it sounds clean OVERALL and well balanced.

Thanks guys. I won't bother. I'll stick with computer audio for the mods.

ummm buy clean power to begin with and you wont have any issues.... i have 150x2 rms to my mids and highs. its crazy loud and clean.. now im just working on getting it cleaner... the lil bro drove and played with shit .... now im trying to fix it again.

that 150x2 will be keeping up with 2500 rms when i get the subs put in so i might up the power to 250x2 later if i need to

the more power you can produce the louder you can play your volume with less stress on your amps and speakers. when you over drive your amp you over drive your speaker and u blow shit up. i have ran x2 the amount recommend to mids and highs for over 2 years now and no issues yet... i drive 45mins to work one way now and i listen to rap-alternative-blues-jazz i play it all and i play it loud. its not music till you can feel the music.

if this post seems slurred in a since im about a 1/4 into a litre of crown black and im mixxing heavy.
