ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Head Unit Removal and New Head Unit Installation

Tried to find a DIY for this but couldn't find one for the CB7. Anyways does anyone have a link to a DIY (removal and/or installation OR some information how to do it? There must be a DIY somewhere. I want to get a new deck really soon, don't I need some type of adapter to hook a aftermarket head from Pioneer or Alpine up to the stock DIN wires or w/e it hooks to?

there are two 8mm screws behind the radio that hold it into the dash. It's a pain to get to them, but once they're out the radio just slides out of the dash. Then get yourself a wiring harness and dash kit and your're good to go. It's pretty easy, especially once the two screws are out.

A skewdriver like this makes quick work of those 8mm screws. You can get them at most hardware stores.

there is also a flexible 1/4 inch drive nut driver available from snap on, one of those and an 8mm socket and those bolts are no harder than turing a screw.

Is any wiring harness or dash kit fine?
Are the screws behind the whole plastic cover in back closer to the firewall/carpet area? Or on the sides?

Shit, I just removed my cluster/dash trim and just ripped the old deck out. Them screws were a bitch so I had to do it that way. I wasn't gonna re-use the stock stereo anyways. As far as the wiring harness, obviously u have to get one for your year Accord. It just plugs right up to the factory harness. The dash kit is the same. There are ones with pockets and ones without. I prefer the ones with tho.

I think those "universal" dash kits are usually 99.99999% responsible for cracking our cars' dash bezels.

Some of those tabs (and improper weight distribution due to a lack of proper support for your stereo) will stress and crack the bezel.
                My pictures/photos will return soon...

                    metra part numbers
                    99-7898 for the kit
                    70-1720 for the harness
