ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Bookshelf stereo sub question

so my 300watt bookshelf RCA 5 disc rs2654 stereo subwoofer took a crap.

The thing is...my left sub is rattling

Used to hit pretty hard too...but now that one just rattles. bleh

Now I'm talking home audio and the back of the speakers say 6ohms 100watts.

Now a friend gave me a 200watt 8ohm subwoofer to try and replace the two woofers.

    the outlets are like this
    s=sub h=high/mid speaker connectors
    -S-S--H--H
    [+][+][+][+]
    [-][-][-][-]

I'll emit the last four []'s as they aren't for the subs

First I connect both (+)'s to one wire...so the speakers one pos is connect to both of the stereo's (+) connectors
    |------|-------(+)
    [(+)][(+)]
    [(-)][(-)]
    |------|-------(-)

where |---|--- is my two to one wire connector.

I figured maybe this was increasing the resistance?... just a guess...since the bass cut out so badly.

    so I "bridged" next.

what i did was connect X to X
    [X][+]
    [-][X]

Well now it hits, doesn't seem to hit as hard as the original two speakers...but it works pretty good.

    I stopped there ... I really don't understand what exactly I'm doing...could I get a little help?

Was the first putting them in series, and the second putting them in parallel?

the subs are 6ohm 100watts each and the satellite speakers are 8ohm 50watts apiece ... 300watts total.

So what is really happening when I connect my 200watt 8ohm speaker those two ways? I'm trying to draw it on paper but it's just not coming to me. Any help is appreicated

Draw a picture of the wires and what they all go to. My brain hurts the way you've done it
