i prefer smaller speakers for that punch/kick/hit rather than the vibrating base. it also depends on the music you listen too. if your listening to hip hop rmb then u want those 15's if your listening to rock techno or punk then u want 10's 8's but thats my opinion and preference.

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I dont think you got ripped. You stated that you got a 800W rms amp for your 400W rms amp right?? You doubled the power and added the correct speakers to handle that power. BTW, what side of the city do you live?? Glad to see a few Chi Town members on the board!Last edited by plee3; 01-25-2010, 08:56 PM.

Northside bro... i think i saw you at a meet back in feb last year... lol it was cold! It is all about the right amp, if i had this amp with the 15s it would of coarse be louder, but I am happy with what i got. I actually have a trunk! Im looking into maybe getting one mtx 9500... in the distant future.

cvrs are not all that, i paid 100 bucks for two 15s in the box( they were the 07 versions and brand new). I did get a deal, but i see deals all the time. I wonder why people would pay 300 dollars for kicker's 2nd level entry subs? When you can get one good sub. I have had comps, cvrs, L5s, and some entry level mtxs, these thunder ones, and pioneers subs, and let me just say that mtx is awesome, I can not wait to try some w7s or type r's but for now I am happy with mtx. No one believes I got tens when they hear me coming. It not just the amp, I had a 1800watt kenwood on my kickers for a while and was just as loud as it is now, but with twice as much space. Another thing, with kicker subs you hear the bass, but with mtx you feel it on your chest. But don't take my word for it.

I think personally that the downgrade to 10s wasn't a bad choice. I'm going to try 2-12" Infinitys in my CB7 coupe but I am starting to think my choice in size may have been a little overkill. I had a full size car (1996 Olds) with 2 10" Thunder 6000s and they hit hard. Overall 10s produce probably some of the cleanest bass. It's all up to what kind of bass you like.
