Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    auto start on manual

okay im planning to get a alarm with a auto start soon but im wondering if its a good idea to have a auto start with a manual car...because sometimes i when the car is in first gear wouldnt the car stall??

I'm not really too sure on this, but i don't think you can get an autostart on a manual... or if you do then I guess you'd have to make sure the car is in neutral.

The clutch can be bypassed to use remote start to start a car with a manual transmission. However, if the car is left in gear, it will still start and can take off unoccupied.

As long as you leave it neutral with the parking brake on you'll be fine lol. Yet i've read about so many people starting their cars after they had left it in gear from the day before and it driving off and running into shit lmao. I guess it's just a habbit for me to put it in neutral.

you can but dont leave the car in a gear. the remote start will start the car 3 times causing the car to move each time. the distance it move depends on how hard you pulled the ebrake.

I've put remote starts in my manual cars before. I remote started them in gear on purpose a few times to see how far they would go.

Yes it's possible. You have to get a good remote start system that makes sure you leave the car in gear before you leave. I recommend compustar, lol. I have one but I can't figure out how to get the alarm to ground the clutch switch.

Keep in mind (at least where I'm from) It's illegal. I have done it and it's hard to get caught for it (dunno how you even would) but that's something to keep in mind, It's a habbit for me to put my car in Nuetral every time I park so I wasn't too worried.

What? lol. Why would you leave it in gear?

There is a way to install a neutral safety switch so the alarm wont let it start unless it's in neutral. I'll try to find the site where I saw how to do it. It basically works by a wire grounding out with the shifter in any gear, then when in neutral the wire doesn't touch anything.

Ive got one. I was wondering the same thing, because I know that there is nothing telling the ECU that the car is in neutral. There is no electrical connection for any gear (besides reverse I guess).

The way mine is installed is:

When you park (car still running) you have 30 sec. after you pull the handbrake. You push the start button on the remote. Wait for the 3 flashes from the parking lights, then pull the keys from the ignition. Open the door, exit the vehicle, close the door. The car is still running. I hit the start button (or the lock button) and the car shuts off. It is now armed.

If I open one of the doors before starting the car with the remote, then the system trips and the remote start is no longer armed.

I think the theory is that if you leave the car while it is running, there is no way it can be left in gear. And if you open a door while it is not running and armed, you could potentially put it in gear.

So once I arm my start, I dont go into the car without starting it remotely, otherwise the system trips and unarms itself.

Does that make sense? Like I said, its goofy, but I don't know any other fail-safe way.

When I remote start it, I also unlock the doors. Once I get in, if i put the handbrake down or touch the clutch before putting the keys in, it stalls. This also keeps my from habitually pushing the clutch in and turning the key to "start" which would destroy my starter fairly quickly on an already running car.

                            Hope that helps
                            RIP

That's how mine works, but I can't figure out how to bypass the clutch switch when remote starting.
