ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    300 watts

hey guys, so i bought a 1200 watt, 350 watt rms sony xplod 12 inch. My amp only puts out 300 watts. i was going to buy another one of the same sub, but then i got to thinking, maybe the bass will be lower beacuase then each sub would only have 150 watts going to it. If i bought another sub, would the bass loudness be the same as the one sub turned all the way up, or would it be louder than the one sub?

Its dual but you wont get much clear crisp bass if you use a low amp. It will sound about the same but the clarity will be lost.

I have the same sub on a 600 watt amp, and it has clear bass, but if I connect another one, since my amp is 600 watts, it will sound a little more clear, but one is enough.

if its possible for you to bridge your amp that would be better. put more power to each sub.

I save the trunk space and money and stick with running a single sub. Just my .02

saving space for sure but depending on the kind of sub you get and everything that doesnt always mean saving money

It'll be the same amount of power to each sub.

300w to one sub = same volume as 2 subs with half the power. If he fed both subs 300w its only a 3db gain and if he ported the box it's another 3 db gain.

To the OP, is your box sealed or ported?

He said he was thinking about buying another sub. That's what I meant by saving money was not to buy a second sub and to just put the entire 300 to a single sub instead of splitting it between two. It may look better having two in your trunk but it's going to sound the same without a bigger amp.

Instead of buying another sub, why don't you try out a ported box.
