ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

    radio harness!!!!

recently i got my car stolen...
they took the radio with the harness they just unclipped it leaving me with a socket.....

i need to buy the harness to connect to a radio the one with the split wires...

    but i was wondering....

the one that is in my car its a socket....can i just rip that off and use wires directly from the stereo instead of buying a radio harness?

its alot harder and you need a wiring diagram from your car and the radio in order to do it.

the wiring harness makes it easier to install. it also makes it easier to remove and install another radio in the future if you decide to.

Buy a mating harness. It's like $20. Worth avoiding the wiring headache.

well i think it will be the same.....

          its like wiring it up....

but i jsut dont have the socket with split ends....

wouldnt it be the same to just cut the socket and direct connect it with the aftermarket radio wires?

I did the lazy/cheap thing and wired the radio harness directly to the car wiring. Definitely recommend using a mating harness.

Dont do it. Its a bad idea, period. Spend the $15-$20 and get the wiring harness. Everybody is going to tell you the same thing.

The wiring diagram for the radio is what you need. It will tell you which wires are which, because they wont be the same color as the ones coming out of your aftermarket radio. You will also need the wiring diagram for the radio, so you can match the wires up.

It's not easy, but it can be done. It's also not very convenient if you want to upgrade decks later on.

IMO they make wiring harnesses for a reason. Using one would be the RIGHT way to install your new deck, and I would highly recommend you do this the right way. Just splicing the wires together from your car to your radio is the wrong way.

The wiring harness isn't expensive, why don't you just go with it? It makes things much easier.

Its just as easy to cut and reinstall as it is to cut the little adapter and rewire it.. its only a pain if you keep doing it and the car wiring gets to short.. if you dont wanna get the adapter dont. just get a radio diagram and butt connect the wires together with the ones from the car

Click it.... You know you wanna

damn in WI them harnesses only like 7 buckz...well in my experience you would be better off just getting that harness...you run a risk of messing something up cause you don't know exactly what wire goes where...seen alot of peolpe ruin some nice decks too...just get the harness...

just get a new one, go to walmart or kregans. I get mine from local audio stores.

I would get the harness, I installed my friend's second radio, the harness adapter has the same color wires as the car, the deck had the same color wires, I just matched up all the colors, no diagram needed, and presto radio worked flawlessly.

it is easier to get a harness as said before but you seem pretty stern on not getting one so...

Red Yellow Black usually are the same on the car as the stereo so that'll give you power. Once the player turns on turn the balance to the left and fade to the front. That'll give you the left front speaker. Then find the front left speaker on the players wiring harness. Then just play with that and the various speaker wires from the car until you get the front left speaker. Do the same for all the speakers moving the balance and fade around. The speaker wires in the car harness should be pairs of colors (red/red white, grey/grey white, etc.... I can't really remember I haven't done this since I had my first car. That's the easiest way to do it though and requires no wiring diagram.

                            hope that helps
