ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Amp shuts off ...again

My amp shut off after i raise the bass up on the amp or on the stereo. Now I got an 500rms at 4 ohms kenwood amp powering two 15 cvrs. I could go all the way up and the mirror would almost fall off but then after a while the amp will shut off. I dont want to lower the bass on because I might as well put my 1200 watt max amp back on since it sounds about the same all the way up. Now the thing is that with this amp I have to turn the radio off and turn it back on to get the amp on again, with my other amp all I had to do was to lower the volume when that happened. What can I do to fix that problem. Do i need a bettter ground, battery, should I change the "the big three" cause I really want to hear my 15s!! thanks.

ps. my lights do dim a lot, and if I put the radio on (about half way) for about 5 minutes with the car shut off, the car will barely turn on.

You have a bad ground or one of you cables are not getting enough power, have you checked the main amp fuse?

yea its fine. Now I got two amps and the other never ever shuts off, but i don't know if because its only 600 watts. The two are connected to the same ground. I believe a bolt under the seat.

You need a high voltage alternator. later

It sounds like your amp is getting too hot and going into protect mode. If this is the case, you're going to have to lower the gains on either your head unit or your amp. It also sounds like you have a current draw as well, which a new battery will only suffice for a while, a new alternator upgrade probably wouldn't hurt either

High current not voltage...don't want to mess his electrical up lol.

I'm going to say your amp is going into undervoltage protection. How old is your battery?

I have no idea how old it is, a guess would probably 8 years... since the stickers on the battery are all pealing. Im take it to autozone to get it checked... And I really do not want to lower the amp because if I do that it would be same as just having two damn tens and 600 watt amp! I want to hear what I paid for, in another car it worked all the way up..
