ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Be careful with online info, Crutchfield was wrong about my 93. The best way to see what you have is, well, pop your door panel and look in the trunk. I can say from experience that the front doors won't fit some 6.5"s and the mounts are VERY shallow. Pioneer and Cadence have some with <2" depth and you MAY have to go with 5.25". On the back deck, just party on with whatever fits. Just bend over backwards to see what size you have back there. Good luck!

i got some infinity 6.5's for my front doors and they only fit cuz the came with an adapter the moved them out just far enough to miss my window when it was down.

Usually the rear deck speakers don't fit because the trunk lift bars end up getting in the way. You can cut the ends of them off to get a bit more space (an extra .5"-1") if the magnet is too large but the basket isn't.

Also if you have the 5" molded ported assemblies up front (only if you have an EX/SE), you can swap the entire housing out for the housing on a DX/LX to fit a 6.5" speaker. Some people think that the 5" molded housing sounds better with an aftermarket speaker than a 6.5" will, but I disagree and went with the 6.5's in mine and am much happier with the sound. I'm not certain that they are all the same, but the housing from a '96 fit in mine (93) so anything '90-'97 would likely be just fine for you.

Usually you can get a louder 6.5" driver than a 5" driver to help with the fade of music. I found with aftermarket 5" (head unit only, no amp) the rear 6x9s drowned out the fronts unless I did a 70%+ fade to the rear. With the 6.5's its more like 60% faded to the rear to seem matched.

Shankenstein is right on with mounting depths up front. Very shallow so purchase accordingly.
