ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Engine Noise

I cant seem to get rid of the engine whine/noise from my system.

I had all wires running down the driver side. I since moved the power wire and speaker wires to the passenger side but I still get the whine/noise.

I have the RCA and amp turn on wire on the driver side.

    Any ideas? tips?

Seperate your power from your speaker wires. Power on one side, speakers and RCA's on the other. If that doesn't work get a noise suppressor from Radio Shack. I think you can get them at Walmart too.

Im going to try this first. Run the speaker wire away from the power. what about amout the ampt turn on wire? should that be in the speaker/rca side or on the power side?

Don't do this. Your speaker wires won't pick up engine noise from the power wire. The speaker wire carries relatively high voltage, and your RCAs carry really low voltage. In other words, your RCAs can pick up interference from the speaker wires. The problem is almost always a ground. Just check your amp ground first. If not that, check your head unit ground. Maybe you need new RCAs but its most likely an amp ground or head unit ground.

So you ran a ground wire from you trunk all the way to the battery in the engine?

Ground wire from the trunk to the 70 lb battery in the trunk.

did you relocate the battery or is this a seperate battery dedicated to the system?

Bimmer? Beamer? No, cb7. I relocated my battery, and then added a second one.

what u need to do is check the ground source where ur ground wire is make sure u scratched the paint on the body..another tip is make sure u got good RCAs as new or if yall want good shit get streetwire and if u have an old amp is most likely why too..

another thing you can try is where the rca's plug into the headunit wrap a peice of wire around the outside metal of the rca and ground it

Sorry,it should have read ...speakers OR RCAs. Seperation of power and signal is always a good thing.
