I just installed a new system in my 1990 coupe and I'm getting a high pitch whine out of my speakers. What can I do to make it stop? Thanks

I put in a new deck, alpine type s componants in front and type s 6x9s in the back, a 4 ch amp for the speakers, a sub and a 2 ch amp briged. I have the power wire running down the right side and the rca and speaker wire on the left. I drilled and taped a hole under the rear seat for the ground wires.Comment

make sure your big ground and wire going to the amp do not criss-cross, that will give you a high pitch wine through the speakers

its most likely your ground wires for the amp make sure they are connected to bare metal, when there not that can make that high pitch noise, try hooking the grounds to another spot

You should also add a really good ground to the head unit. It will prevent problems in the future and can also protect the deck from dying.Comment

I have had multiple problems out of pioneer head units causing feedback (whine). if you have a ghost whine that you can not get to go away and are using pioneer head units... throw em out.... or you could pay to have it shipped off and fixed if you like it that much.Comment

Or do what everyone else with a pioneer does. The problem is a ground fuse blows and can't easily be replaced in the unit. So run a ground wire around the RCA outputs and that fixes it.Comment
