ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    component speakers

Hey guys. new to the cb7 scene. thinking of upgrading my speakers and thinking of going with components in the front, possibly some type r's. just wondering where you guys have placed your tweeter? thanks guys!

Some of us have put the tweeter in the door panel (requires cutting the door panel), some of us straight onto the sail panel (mirror triangle) and others on the dash.

I would go with the sail panels, that way if you want to take them out you don't have a giant hole in your doors trim. Same if you want to later sell the car, sail panels are cheaper and easier to replace then door trim.

No they don't, mine look great there. I just depends on whether or not your tweeters came with angle pods.

Exactly. It also depends on the installer. If you want it to look good, you'll make it look good.

If you can get your hands on some tweeter pods that swivel, that would be even better because you can aim them for better imaging.

well what it is if u buy those tweeters from a cheap audio store..they usually come with a couple screws and like a lil black usually plastic braket that u can drill a hole in ur sail panel and just run the wire down etc..but usually u gotta do it ur self.. im not sure if those bigger tweeters from component sets have that plastic braket n screws with them...but i have pictures when i had mine in..if u want ill email you a picture or 2 just give me ur email idk how to post it on here.

edit: now i really see that it isnt quite a good picture..but it was when i sold my cb7..but u can see it on the top right of the screen..u can see the lil wire hangin out too..i oculd have hid it better like under it there was a lil hole made for it..but i was lazy at the time..the tweeters are chrome..and i used a black caulk to have them in place..

have any of you guys ran two component sets? set in the front and set in the back. My buddy just installed type r 6.5's (minus the tweets for now) on his rear deck and those things pound pretty nice for 6.5".

so i was thinkin' 2 sets of 6.5's, set up in the front would be a mounted tweet in the door panel and the driver in the door as well. back set up would be a tweet in the door panel as well but the 6.5's in the rear deck. i'm tryin to say away from throwin a sub in the back. especially after hearing how decent those type r's are.
