ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Where to put 8" sub in passenger compartment

I would like some more bass, not a lot but thinking of maybe a 8" sub, but not sure where I could mount it in the passenger compartment.
Maybe the passenger seat, that is the only place I think it may fit. I could maybe rig some center thing behind the E-brake.
Anyway just brainstorming. Can't put it in the trunk that beeotch has leaked for 10 years and I still can't find it.

I use to know a guy who had a cb7 before. He didnt know anything bout it. I saw that he cut a 8inch circle around were the 6x9s use to be and mounted them one in each slot. He used speakerbox wood and some bondo. Then painted the back the same color. It actually looked nice like it came like that from factory.

What you could do is get creative, make a box that straddles the hump in the middle of the car, have the woofer firing forward to the dash, and make a center console out of the enclosure??

In the middle of the back deck would be awesome, but the brake light might be in the way. I read DejectedAngel's post and immediately thought it would be a good spot.
Officially "hilarious mad sarcastic"! Thanks CB74christ for the recognition of my work.

If you take the window trim off of the car at the bottom of the back glass and put new silicone over all of the holes that you'll find that should solve the leak. Mine leaks like crazy but I just haven't fixed it yet. As far as I know that's where it's more than likely comming from. They're notorious for that shit. With it being an 8" sub you could almost put it anywhere. Maybe look into putting it where the armrest for the back seat folds up or something.....

Well everyting look like it was factory. It look the same as with the 6x9s but instead it had 8inch subs. The brake light still worked. I wish he still had it to take a pic but god knows were that car ended up. Just imagine the same look but with 8inch subs.

Yeah I did the same in the back of my brother's corolla he used to have. It came with 6.5's but I gave him a set of Boston Acoustic 6x9's. We just took a sawzall to it and then went back with a dremel to smooth out the edges and get everything right.

I didn't think about that armrest in the back. I could box, it to the back seat, cut the seat, and let the armrest down. Also might look into rear deck, but don't want to lose rear speakers, would be PITA to move rear speakers to rear doors.

cutting the 6X9 holes would really be the easiest/ one of the very few ways you could do it.
it definitly wouldnt fit in the door. sub depth would be to big.

i would just go for the 6X9 holes and maybe make the holes in the doors a little bigger and upgrade those speakers.

I saw some pics that they mounted 8 s subs where you stretch your feet. I mean for the driver side on the left corner down of the dash. And for the passenger side on the right corner. I t looks good with the doors closed like door speaker next to the sub inside cabin.

if u were like me and didnt have ac or heat in ur car and totally remove everything from behind the dash like i did u could make a nice downfire enclosure and have the perfect soundstage with no worry with having the sub seem to direction with all teh bass coming from behind u . if i ever get rid of my 10w7 im gonna go with that idea

Rear deck sounds like a good idea. Ive seen alot of setups in that location.
