Might as well get an alpine amp too.
PDX 4.100 just to have matching products.
Don't buy a bass blocker. Use the built in xover on the amp.

I've dealt with alot of stereo stuff including Alpine head units but never with their speakers. From my experiences so far they should be good. I used to have a Kicker 650.4 on two component sets and it was great. I would say something around 5-600 watts. You shouldn't have to turn up the gain too much and it won't be working too hard to put out the power needed.

well..you might wanna check out the Alpine MRP-550 which is 100Wx4 RMS wise..800W amp..im pretty sure they should pick up the Type S speakers..i have type R's and im using a 600 Watt amp and i think they need a little bit more..thats why im recomending the 800Watt one..but they still sound nice!..but it's up to you and your budget!..=]

Are you sure I don't need a crossover for the rear? In the rear I'm going to have 4 speakers (2 4" coaxial and 2 6x9's) and the components in the front so there wouldn't be enuff channels on the amp to hook them up.

I forgot you had an oem deck. Well think of the xover on your amp as an electronic bass blocker. A good amp will have a separate one for the fronts and rears. What you can do is hook your components up to the front speaker outputs and set the xover to about 60hz. Then wire the 4" and 6x9s in parallel to each channel of the amp and set the rear xover to about 80hz and have your sub play from 80hz down.

why would u hook components up to deck power and then little 4'' speakers to the amp?

the little 4 inch speakers should be on the deck power and crossover. then the 4 main speakers on the amp. The components want power and not deck power.

and get a new deck. you wont have to deal with the things to make the oem deck work with your amp. you will also love the sound quality the new deck puts out.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

im not hooking up any speakers to the deck. the components wil be connected to the amp and so will my 6x9's and 4" coaxials. what im trying to figure out is how to connect the 6x9's and 4" speakers to the two channels on the amp.

and yea i am planning on getting a better deck. nothing to expensive though.

a deck with front/rear/sub output works great.

honestly i think it would be hard to seperate the gains between a little 4'' speaker and the 6x9 with the front components. hooking them up in paralell to the amp will only yeild no way to adjust the gains. you can probably say that the 4'' will top out before the front and the rears.

If you are going to go with it, id hook the back up together, then the front off its own channel. that way you have the ability to distinguish front and rear fade. but you still are going to push those 4'' speakers.

if anything, get a little amp to run the 4'', and then the alpine to run the 4 speakers inside, that way you can set the crossovers correctly and seperated without worrying. possibly with a external crossover, not really needed but can be used.

                              Hi,
Why shouldn't we use bass blockers? What if I have type S Alpine SP600C components without an amp, could I use bass blockers? I was told that the cross over built in the speakers are not great.
                              Thanks.
