ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Hmm, all of the installation kit has only 17 feet power cable.

Great info! If a DIY is made, make sure to point out that the power cable and RCA's should be ran on different sides of the vehicle, as they can pick up noise interference if they are too close.

ok. I looked really closely at the doors and dude, it's tougher than I would think. The passenger's side looks easier. To run the cable from the side kick out then down, then into the door. The boot must be removed for sure to get the cable through without puncture or drilling.
For the driver's side, it's even tougher, there is a box right in front of where the cable would go out of the side kick. The boot is even tighter than passenger's side. I have not done it yet but it seems too hard and I need much more time to get it done. I am thinking if I could run the cables through the front firewall then back inside of the fenders then into the doors through the bottom of the side panel. What do you think? It won't be as pretty but unless some one is paying attention, they won't see them. I just want good sounds so looks don't mean that much.

How many watts can those stock cable ran in the car any way?
        Thanks,

I used a stiff piece of bailing wire to pull my speaker wire through the wiring harness boot on the drivers side. It was a pain in the ass, regardless.

I still have question on the ground point if the amps are mounted in the trunk. I will have 2 amps screw down on a piece of wood which will be screwed down onto my sub box for the 10".
It's recommended that I ground the 2 amps separately, I see one center bolt which mount the bottom part of the back seat down. Where should I ground the other amp to?
The big bolt for the seat belt is too large and the connector won't fit around the bolt.
I don't want to use the bolt that ground the fuel pump. And definitely don't want to use the bolt for the shock absorber.
It's been 2 weeks and I still haven't gotten everything installed. I only got the power cable ran which was easy with all the help and pics. And the components in the front are done.
Waiting for my new dash trim to install the used Ebay won, Pioneer DEH-P5000UB.

                Thanks,

How can your amp be too powerful to connect it there at the fuse box? The wire is lugged and bolted down to the positive cable coming from the battery. Power wise there is not a noticeable difference bwtween where I'm connected and the battery; maybe .001 volt. Your 1200 watt Sony will be just fine lugged there.

Honestly, anyplace close to the amp that you can bolt directly to metal is fine. The closer to the amp the better.
