ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Front Right Speaker Connection Problems

I have a 92 lx and the front right speaker has been cutting in and out, at first I thought the speaker itself was broken or there was a back connection between the clip and the speaker after plugging one of the rear speakers into the front port it cuts out the same. It starts to work when I hit a bump on the road and then stops after no longer then a minute.

I don't know where to look next because I have no experience with car audio and I looked at the male end of the clip and the connections all look fine.

Check your wiring, if it's an aftermarket radio there may be something behind the headunit loose. If it's all stock your radio may be on its way out slowly. Check the wiring at the speaker plug and between the door and body of the vehicle in the grommet.

Yeah everything is stock but I am replacing the two front speakers and the deck so I'm looking to find the problem and I'll check the connections between the door and body, I'm almost positive the clip connection between the speaker and the wiring coming into the door is fine.

If all else fails, when you install the new radio and speakers just run a new wire from the headunit to the door. Not too hard at all, just fish it through and into the door. Now you have eliminated all chances of fail.

Yeah thanks, that seems like the easiest solution.

This is an Alpine OEM HU issue. I had the same problem and verified it was not my aftermarket speakers (or aftermarket plug harness at the speaker), and was losing output from the same channel. Since I was still keeping the HU stock, I found a clean '92LX OEM headunit and replaced it. Problem went away.

Mine did this exact same thing. It sucked with just the back speakers working, then you hit a bump and it scares the shit out of you because you have it so loud so you can hear the rears. Once I got the aftermarket Cd deck, it fixed the problem. Seems like it was a problem in the stock radio. Never had to rewire or anything.
