Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Ground Noise

    My setup:
    Pioneer deck
    Focal fronts w/ crossover/tweeters in door
    xplod rears
    2 polk 10" subs
    xplod amp for subs
    pioneer amp for speakers
    2gauge wire

    You probably don't really need to know that tho..

    Heres the issue.

    If the radio is off, there is no noise. As soon as I turn it on, I get a high pitched wine coming from the dash and it intensity's when I turn the rear defroster on.

    I'm assuming it's a ground wire to the deck and not the amps. I've read it's good to ground the amps to the same point but I have them grounded to two separate points.. both points are sanded and clean. I didn't install the deck so I'm guessing I need to pull it out and fix the ground wire in there. Any other ideas?

    you actually did the right thing in grounding your amps on seperate points, its not recommended to ground them on the same. so thumbs up for that! i would definetly suggest checking your head units ground, i had the same issue and i recently changed headunit, so when installing the new one, i properly grounded it, and i have no more whine. so check it out!

      pioneer is bad about HU haveing bad RCA grounds.... u can fix this by gettin a new HU or grounding the RCAs themselfs. but the bad thing is ground noise can be alot of things ... im still trying to track down whats up with mine. even though its not noticable when i start playing music i know its there and i wont start competeing again till i know i have gotten rid of it. im in the process of having a ALT bracket built for my powermaster ALT. once i have the new alt on im hopin its gonna cure the shit.

        I recently had the same issue, my noise was only coming from my rear speakers, I assumed it was the amp, had it tested, checked out fine. Moved onto the head unit, thinking the rca outputs were bad, nope. Found out it was the ground, I redid the ground, grounded both amps to the same location, works fine

          Check all your grounds.

          Pioneer HU's are notorious for bad grounding issues through the RCA's.

          Your amps SHOULD be grounded to the same spot so no ground loops are created.

          Try grounding your HU to the same spot as your amps.

          Check your battery connections.
          I don't own the CB7, but I'm down to learn anything and everything to help my brother out.

            Battery connections are great
            Amps grounds are great
            I added an 8gauge ground to the black wire going to the head unit
            All grounds are clean

            Still have noise.. so I'm going to make my own engine ground kit w/ 8 gauge and then I'll ground the RCA's and let you guys know.

              some amps are badly made and are the cause of this whine. so after you've exhausted all possibilities, you may want to consider this.

                take a small piece of wire and ground the rca's...that's most likely the problem...I had to do that to my pioneer when I amped my speakers.

                  And your 100% positive your grounds are good? I thought the same thing, after trying everything I could think of, my grounds weren't so great.

                    I had a similar issue but it was actually my tweeter wire was touching metal and a single speaker was causing the noise. make sure none of your front speaker leads are touching any metal in the doors, if none of the suggestions mentioned above don't fix the problem.

                    In Need of an engine, just a basic f22a...pm me if you have one willing to part with.

                      i have had intense noise in my civic since I got it and put a system in it, its gets annoying but i deal with it

                        just change the HU. Pioneer do have a bad rep for having bad rca grounds
