ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Alpine Cda-9884 Power

So today i made a trip to best buy and bought a Alpine CDA-9984. Its a nice head unit. Dont know how it sounds yet, thats where my problem begins. So when i got my CB the wiring harness was cut. So i saved my self the trouble of wiring the wiring to a new harness and just used connectors. I did that for my last Kenwood and my power wire didnt work so i just ran a power wire to the fuse box. That worked good. Well with this head unit I have all the wires connected right and it still wont power. I even had my dad check over it just in case i made it mistake and all is right. The manual says i have to run a wire to the battery? Is this true?
I'm in love with the headunit itself though i mean, its got ipod input(which i just bought a 2gb nano off ebay about a hour ago for 43 bucks) lol. Its got mp3/wma /aac playback, its bluetooth compatible (just needs the bluetooth adapter which is 150 bucks lol) But i think its safe to say once i get it working, itll be the best 220 dollars i have ever spent.

Ive seen some decks that you need to run a wire to the batt. Its probly because of the high output internal amp

Does it say you have to run the yellow wire to the battery? That's memory, and the HU won't function without it. If it is the yellow, it doesn't have to go to the battery, just to an "always on" 12v location in the fuse box. give us a little more information there, B!

yes. Run an extension to the thick gauge white wire under your dash, from the ignition harness. it will be connected to a brown plug in the drivers kick panel. Fuse with at least 10 amp fuse near where you tap in to the wire.

I just ran a wire to my battery and it worked without a problem. Now when my ipod nano comes i have to take it back out and connect my ipod wire.

numba 1, crimp connectors suck solder that b*tch!!

numba 2, shitty busy about the wiring, you should be able to hardwire the connections, YELLOW- 12v memory, RED- Ignition/ACC, Black-Ground

make sure those are connected properlly, then of course your speaker connections, and if somethings wrong, get back to us on that.
