ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    New Setup. Ideas?

So I'm getting tired of my current setup (Shitty internet Chinese amp to one old style Alpine Type-R 12"). Any ideas for something new? I want something loud as fuck but also cost effective. Do 15's fit in CB trunks? Here are some of the subs I was looking at.

(BTW I know the Type-Rs are more powerful than most of these subs but mine is the old style 300w RMS and for some reason it doesn't sound too good.)

I know it's a lot of choices but any input?

shy away from square subs and audiobahn. squares are less durable and audiobahn is lower grade. ive never heard Cerwin Vega! car audio but their in home is great. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...TS-W308D2.html thats my favorite from your list

They rise their wooden pints and they yoik and sing

Really? I always thought square subs were better because they take up pretty much the same space as a regular sub but with more cone area. Thanks for the info

Edit: Audiobahn taken off the list, and as far as I know Cerwin Vega is a pretty good name in car audio

Before changing subs, how about going to a ported box? its cheaper and may give you a good idea of what you really want.

My current box is ported, I still don't like it very much. My setup has changed a little from my MRT

It's custom, but it was made like complete shit. I bought it off Craigslist and it's just not a well made box. I'm going to make a new one that's 1.65ft^3 at 32Hz when I get my table saw hooked up again (Damn lack of 220v panels :P) but that'll be for the new setup

Its not much of an audible difference. but the killer is since they're square they have stress points at the corners and they rip easier. Especially in climates with different temperature variables. I live in MN and I've seen square subs break within a year because they're less durable.
