Where can i find a good head unit for my car that doesnt have 9 billion extra unnecessary lights, is user friendly and is simple yet effective?

What do you mean

What do you mean by 9 billion extra lights. Are you referring to an LCD screen?

If you are then you will have to be more specific about what features you want with it.

Otherwise I would suggest the one that came in your car.

alpine. clean, userfriendly, not flashy.I had a panasonic that i had to flip the face down at night so it wouldnt blind me. those colorfull ones just scream steal me

pioneer makes some premiers that do some bad ass stuff but are not too flashy and what not..and if its too bright at night make sure the dimmer switch is hooked up to dim when your headlights come on...

that sounds pretty good. I am looking for some stuff like alpines older stuff, Where it blends in with the car and doesn't draw attention to itself.

well, when it comes to headunits, there is a lot of debate, and personally, i go through way more speakers then head units, so i dont have much to compare with. All i can say, DO NOT go with Clarion or Sony, you'd be good with pioneer or alpine, but bang for buck, i think Pioneer takes the cake.

Go to Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Circut City, etc and look at all the headunits they offer.
That way, uyou can see how they all look, and mess them with a little to see if you like them.
But, don't buy them in the store... save yourself some money and buy it online.

I agree completely. My last two decks were Pioneer and they're great. Pioneer Premier is great for the price, and the one I have (Pioneer DEH-P6000UB) integrates the iPod perfectly.

If you want something that will play everything, I'd get Pioneer. If you want something that wont play CDs but will play an iPod/radio I'd strongly suggest some of the Alpine head units. Now I'm wishing I bought the Alpine iDA-X100 because it has a very nice display considering it's 1 din.

i went with an OEM unit. A combination CD/Cassette double din from a 2003 CR-V. It fit into the dash nicely with a custom harness to adapt the 03 plug to my 90 plug. the only thing is at night ,the lights on the radio are a soft amber while the rest of my dash is a blue/white other than that i'm good with it.
