ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

6.5 if they are round, and 6X9 if they are oval.

Are you replacing the speakers with the same size as stock?

if you get the rear decklid cardboard thingy from a DX (which didnt have rear speakers in some years) you can cut holes in it to match your speakers precicely, that way you can use the grilles supplied with your speakers if they came with them instead of the big pods that the stock ones were in.

                  LX = 5 1/4" Front and Back
EX-R = 4" or something upfront because of that plastic box thing
                  6x9" Rear.

Anyways... my question... in order to get 6 1/2" speakers in the rear which pods would i need... 5 1/4" from an LX (would require trimming) or will they fit in a 6x9 hole... or do i need to use adaptor plates?

i did it. i just drilled holes in the metal, and dropped the speakers in. looks like shit, but can always pick up some fabric and glue it on.

There should be pods that the speaker is bolted into, and it comes with a cover... You should not see speaker at all...

i know, but the speakers would not fit in the pods. the bottom of them were too big. they are 6.5's tho.

they look exactly like those. the metal part of the speakers jut out too much, so they dont fit in.

Yeah the front on an EX they are 4.25, small as hell. I just replaced my front ones with 6.5 and that is a major difference. Then the rears are 6x9's, note if you get pioneers you have to clearance the pod a little bit.
