ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

whats teh purpose of having this is my headunit already has built in equalizers?

honestly, most H/Us do have this, but an H/U can't do as good as a job as that. On an H/U it modifies it digitaly, where as an equalizer is analog, the results are much better. I wouldnt waste my money on one, but if you're that much of an enthusiast id say go for it.

It just lets you adjust the sound that much more but in all honesty, I wouldn't waste your time with it. Use the cash you would spend on it to go for other audio equipment.

Actually, I was asking if it was in his equipment.
                Thanks for playing, though.

I'm not sure about the particular model cd player you're referring to, but, I believe it's an Excelon model, it's Kenwood's higher end stuff. With mine, I've got the normal bass, mid, treble, then I've got adjustments for different frequencies, eliminating the need for a second equalizer

It's mainly for those who don't have as much EQ control already built in to the h/u and for those that think it will make their systems "louder" and give them more bass.

Why is analog better? And if you do decide to get an EQ, you can take that $180 and buy a nice 1/3 octave EQ that will give you alot more control than the 5 band one.

because analog is truer to the sound how it was recorded ... the reason record players brand new sound better than a cd will ever be possible. There is a lot of technical issues involved pertaining to the conversion of the signal and how digital signals have a much lower ceiling when it comes to noise than analog....

I have the higher version of that Kenwood eq its a 9 band and there is a night and day difference in sound when you adjust the frequencies with that, than with the parametric eq installed in the cd player (alpine 9853)

In Need of an engine, just a basic f22a...pm me if you have one willing to part with.

i have owned a couple pioneers that have had a seven band EQ.

But i would rather get a cheaper HU and that EQ than to spend a shit load on another stereo with one built in. and it does make a huge difference f you know how to tune stereo.
