ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

You can do a lot on a small budget. Do not *I repeat* do not, get the Rockford Fosgate P1 anything!!!!! Their stuff is way too cheap and not enough quality was put into them. You know those older amps and what not, The black steel and the silver steel amps. Go for one of those. I got the 301X (4 way) and 601S (2 way) and they sound amazing. I paid 250 for everything. They also came with a matching bridge.

Also Rockford really doesn't make anything that's for quality sound. They just don't. Anyone who tells you otherwise hasn't run a different amplifier. JL Eclipse, Clarion, these brands will put out cleaner sound than Rockford Foagate but will set your wallet back much much more.

I forgot to mention, If you go with the rockford line, don't turn the gain up. It really distorts the inside sound and the bass is loud enough. There is no reason you should use all that gain, it just give you crackles through your speakers and you get that noise through the speakers when you turn the volume all the way down. The noise sounds like a older tube TV when it's on. It's hard to describe but trust me, it's very VERY annoying.

I agree. You can buy some good things on a budget. I bought both my amps for $188.26 total.
I recommend an alpine type-r. For the price, they're good subs.

An older finned amp is def. better. raw power not fancy but efficient. I dont remember the comapnys name but i had an on silver amp with 100! yes 100 watts and it played 10 times better than an 800w that i have right now. but if you do go new, Go JL or another good company.

I dont know man....Ive had orion, kenwood, kicker,JL,MTX,soundstream and Nakamichi....

some of the best amps for powerful bass are the Old School Punch and Power amps.....unless you can get like a nakamichi......
I personally like the DSM punch class.....they sound especially clear for highs.....deep deep bass also....

I seen some guy saying something about turning up the gain......I dont think he has any idea what gain is for......

I had the 250a2 wired several different ways, and it lasted me 7 years before I sold it. Still don't know why I did. As far as subs, I also had an Alpine type R 15 and it rocked. Really low. Really.

That's what I'm running in my car, got RF 125.2(1996 era) identical to the one you posted. They put out around 600 watts RMS with 14.7 volts.

I've got another 125.2 and a 200.2 just sitting in storage due to these gas prices.
