Just a quick question i thought id toss out there... had my accord for about 2 years, about to upgrade to a real system, got two polk tweeters, but im not sure how i want to mount them, should i cut out to wholes into the interior trim on the a pillar or is there an easier way, i dont really want to put them in the kick panel though, i feel its a waste to even have the tweeters if its sending all the high sounds to my knee lol

ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

If you have the time and patience, you could do what I did;
Custom Tweeter Pods
Custom Tweeter Pods - Continued
They turned out very nice, and they sound much, much better than when I had them installed in front of the door handles, in the door panel.
Even with the pivoting tweeter cups, there isn't enough of a pivot to aim them for optimal sound when they're mounted in the door panels, in front of the handles.. they do sound good there, but they sound much better where I have them, IMHO.

PS: I have the Polk DB1001 tweeters in my car (they're part of the DB6501 component set that I have installed). I also have Polk SR6500 components (not currently installed) and the tweeters for those sounded amazing where my tweeter cups are now mounted.

Steps Done:
Originally posted by mak1.) Screwed the tweeter cup into the panel and drilled a hole for the wiring.
2.) Roughed up the plastic with a sanding wheel on my dremel.
3.) Mixed Bondo Body Filler.
4.) Filled in around the tweeter cup, leaving plenty of extra Bondo so it could be sanded down into a custom shape.
5.) Sanded it all down until I got the shape I was after.
6.) Sanded it smooth.
7.) Applied contact cement to the bondo and plastic panel.
8.) Cut tan felt (the very same fabric used for the rear speaker pods.
9.) Applied contact cement to the tan fabric.
10.) Stretched the tan fabric over the new tweeter pod.
11.) Stretched it tight around the corners and contact cemented the fabric over the edges of the panel.
12.) Cut a + sign into the center of the tweeter cup and trimmed the fabric a bit so the tweeter could fit in.
13.) Pushed the wiring through the hole (previously drilled!)
14.) Pushed the tweeter into the cup at the desired angle.
15.) Repeated for the other side!
