ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    mini dvc

yo, I got a old 4" dvc jensen sub.used to be part of a surround sound system. i want to biuld a small box for it to bring some bass up front. any ideas? iwas thinking bout 1/4 cu box, no port for hittin bass to give a little kick to my2-10"dvc's in the trunk. I have a (dig-it) Rampage 50 watt ide like to bridge for it, and hide it some where in the dash. I havent really looked but, is there a lot of space behind the glove box? also, if this amp wont bridge, can I run each channel in stereo to each winding on the sub? now im thinking maybe port it so I can direct the sound to the vents in the dash that face you. any ideas? pros or cons? worth the time?
edit--- just checked epinions.com-not bridgeableamp specs

ummm kool idea but honestly its gonna be tooo much of a hassle. the bass shouldnt be in the front it should actually be in the middle of your sound stage. (sounds like its between tyhe front seats) dont get me wrong i like the idea but i think u would get more use out of a center channel then trying to add a sub in the front.....

thats not 100% correct, it used correctly u can have a sub up front just like in a home threther set up many iasca member have gone to using subs in the dash or under the dash to bring the complete sound stage up front instead of from behind. upfront subs set up will requres less power since you dont have to fight against any resistance such as gas tanks, seats insulation etc etc etc.

      this volvo owner i found

yeah many win, i actually sat in a winning red s-10 back in 2003-4 that had 1 10" jl downfiring under the dash, image dynamic horns and mid/woofers, and a few months later he was in car audio and electronics magazine. more do it then most people think, espically with the growth of 5.1 sound systems in the market

speaking of 5.1 has a CB ever tried it? i know im goin to im just waiting to get the double din that actually processes 5.1 and has the outputs.

i wasnt tring to call you out either i was just wondering? the last show i was at was nopi nationals in atl last year.... i sat in a few but some of those SQ guys could be assholes. im hoping i can get in bassrace this year but its taking me sooo longto get my recones. im also debating which cb i wanna do the 5.1 in being that i have 3 right now.... im really thinking the 2 door.

              sorry to thread jack!

Hey Angus, from what I can see on the back of that mini sub, you can bridge that amp with it. It's 8 ohm DVC, your amp wants to run at 4 ohm which is what you'll end up with, so you should be just fine. Your amp may not bridge down to 2 ohms, but ... You get the picture. And I'd look at mounting it behind the center console, Seems like there should be just enough space under and behind the HU.

Thanks. I did design for a few years, but it started being "un-fun" so now I just play around a little with stuff that interests me. Let us know how that mini sub works out.
