i was wondering if any of you new what type of amp should be powering the alpinen type r subwoofers? im planning on getting 2 12inch subs and i was wondering what i should get for an amp

2 12's is kinda excessive... have you heard the 12's? THeir insane... My 12 inch type S is doing a damn good job for the 150 that i paid. If your going with 2 12's Type R's, i wouldnt recommend anything under 1000W RMS.... And at the same time, get your alternator rebuild & rewound to put out more power.

OP, just try to match the wattage of your sub with the wattage of the amp. I have 1 12" type R in my 240 paired with some kenwood amp that matches it perfectly 500rms, 1500 max. It satisfies me.

I've got one 12 alpine type r in my accord hooked up to an amp pushing 500w rms and it beats.. I couldn't think of having 2. That's just too much bass for me

I have 2 12 type-r's powered by an older v-12 class d mono that puts out about 650 rms and it bumps plenty hard for me. I listen to pretty much everything but most hard rock, metal and a little old school rap. Also, a cool thing about Alpine amps(higher end anyways) is they come with berth certificates that show the actual wattage of your amp and it's always a little higher than what is specified on the box like mine said it was a 600wt rms amp and it came in at 645ish.

I have a kenwood 1000watt amp pushing my r 10's and it works great.

I had 2 r 12" hooked to an audiobahn amp that a friend gave me. I think its 1800 peak and like 800 rms... something like that. It would put a lighter if you lit one when i had my seat down. Its a good way to keep people from smoking in your car!


Ohhh yeah, that was too much bass after a while, so now i only use one 12.

Alpine PDX-1.1000 I got one push'n a single Type-R 15, had it on a set of Type-R 12's before, perfect match. Believe me, that's wut you want.

ok well i just bought 3 12 inch alpine type r's? it comes with 2 amps and i currently have both amps wired up to get power. but. how do i(should i) wire the 2 amps to my 3 alpines?

nice trunk layout im not a big fan of the type r's if anything get some kickers comp's or some L7's but if you do get them just get a good power cap and thick,solid wiring and it will pound
