ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Sound like a good setup?

I'm trying to make a good audio setup where my system is balanced with bass and clarity. I'm not an audiophile, so i dont really care for a component system and yes i've heard them in person . I have bought new 6.5 kenwoods for my doors and deck. All i want now is a sub that will put a little extra thump in my CB. If i get a deck with an optional high pass filter and use it for my speakers, then get a sub that has a low rms of about 150w, do you think this would be a good balance?

Sounds like it should work. Get a 10 or maybe a 12 inch woofer, don't wanna drown out you other speakers. What amp are you going to use for your sub? If your not wanting to spend a shit ton of cash, you could probably get a sub, box and amplifier from Wal Mart for a decent price

I would get a 10' Sony explode sub that would even everything out and sound good

Yeah, sounds perfect. You'll certainly feel 150 watts of bass, there's not much need to run more/less than that. Running less wattage doesn't really save much money, and running more than 150 watts rms isn't necessary unless you want to impress bass-heads.

And then if you wanted to impress bass-heads, you'd need 600 watts rms. Speaking of which, I got some JL Audio 12w3v3s with an enclosure for sale that would be waay too much for any sensible buyer.

But yeah seriously, I was very happy back when I was running my single JL Audio 12w1v2 at 150 watts rms.

My 450W (250RMS) 12" Xplod gets the job done.
