im going 2 buy some infinity reference series speakers for my cb 6x9s and 5-1/4 or 6-1/2 if they fit and was wondering how much rms would i need from my amp and also how 2 hook it up because i have a mono amp already for my 15 so im gonna run 2 amps. thanks in advance guys.

The speakers should have a rating for recommened rms. The 6 1/2 will fit for fronts, just need the right spacer. You should get a distribution block, another ground, maybe another rca but maybe not depends on the output on amp. What amp you plan to push the mid and high's?

Yes, you can buy just a distribution block seperate. You should also look into getn a capacitor since your gonna be drawing alot more power from your battery running 2 amps. Really, you should run a cap even if running just the mono amp. A 2 or 3 farad cap should do it for wut you wanna run.Originally posted by storm trooperComment

the install isnt much harder than a sub install, just more work cuz you gotta go to four speakers. get a distribution block, good amp, wiring kit, and some good speakers and your set.
cant go wrong with brand name stuff, apline, jl, polk etc. you get what you pay for.Comment

okay if u are worried about the install being hard then please carry it to a shop and have them do it.....please. and a cap IMO is pointless and does nothing but look pretty ur better off with a second batt but it really all depends on what power u are PULLiNG.
6.5s are ur best bet for your front speakers u can either buy an adapter or u can make one urself using mdf or fiber board.Comment

x2 on loud92CB7db18's statement about caps. they are useless. if you are pulling quite a bit of power, you will need to upgrade your battery and get a better alternator.
as for hooking your amps up, starting at the positive terminal of the battery, you will need a low-guage (4 or less) power wire with a fuse within 18 inches of the battery. run that power wire through the engine-bay grommet in the passenger footwell and on to your trunk. in the trunk, split the power with a distribution block then onto a fuse for each amp. run the ground from each amp to a different location, but make sure it is a good ground. te best ground i have seen is a steel plate welded at several points to the spare tire well and several low-guage wires ran to several places in the trunk. that is slightly excessive, though.
