ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

hey i recommend to just get pioneer... pioneers are good to have with any type of head unit i had 6.9" pioneer and they work good.. good bass and voice, now i have cadence 6.9 front and back but that requires to have a amp because to much bass on those speaker blow them and/or they wnt sound right u wnt here much voice... so my suggestion is pioneers they are not that expensive if u go to the right places... i did my system in my car just me and my bestfriend and we did hell of a good job for 2 females lol good luck

i like you to show me a deck that is 50x4. most decks run from 12-22 wattsx4 rms. the max power doesnt matter at all.

...anything is a upgrade...pioneer is decent for the money. if you got more cash polk is great...
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

one thing u can do is take out the pod out of a dx...then take out the pod out of the ex, and mount it in.

another which we do at work is make a spacer or use the one that comes in polks, take out the EX pod and then mount it with screws and call it a day.

yea, my bad. i was going by the max power since thats what he said his Sony one was. the RMS is probably around the range you specified.

I have used Sony headunits for years now, no problems with them, and the next system I will have will be running off Sony as well. Probably the last time, but not because of any issue with the decks. Personal preference, but I would definately recommend spending a little more on the speakers from here on in. Lots of options, you may want to consider getting a component setup rather than just coaxials. That will give you more flexibility in terms of controlling where to get the best sound stage.

the headunits are alright, but the speakers aren't built to last. They look cool, heck if you get em for a deal and you aren't keeping the car more than two years and you don't care you can be happy with them if you don't care to much, but if you are keeping the car get some better speakers.

Audiophiles/professional installers (not the average best buy.circuit city installers, no offense to those who work there and do know their stuff!) won't recommend 6x9s. But they put out more bass than cheap 5-6.25 rounds so we like em lol...

Best bet is get some used/discontinued decent brand audio on ebay. I know some ppl are against it, but I've never had a problem. Just about anything car audio is about 1/3 less vs retail as a general rule from what I've seen. I've bought 5 amps, 2 subs, 2 speakers, 2 head units(well three as of today lol). 2 amps were new, 2 were barely used perfect condition alpine monos, paid HALF what they were currently selling for retail. 2 old oldschool alpine little 2 ch and they still work fine, 1 cheapo amp i did blow pushing it too much along with those subs (later on, way over amped!), the speakers nearly 2 years still fine (were new 1 yr old model). cheap headunits im not using in my car now both fine still...

So no bad deals, I am very careful about analyzing the feedback. I've saved probably 50% overall on my setup because of this, while the UPS guy tells me "dont' by on the internet, most of that stuff is refurbished and ppl don't know it!". w.e ive saved a lot, I know the condition before I buy and I'm happy.

BOSE sound system, and yes they do make car speakers. But they are a bit pricy.

I just bought a pair of Jensen JS365 6.5" speakers and installed them myself. I had posted this sometime last week, don't know if anybody read it. They sound real good for only $30. Now that I got my system on the inside, it's time to work on the outside. Peace.

I have gone through many sound systems and the only bad ones I dealt with was a brand called Verge they were free with a purchase of an amp so I was like what the hell. But anyway In my car I have an Alpine headunit with a kicker component set in the doors which are unbelievable and I am rocking some 5 year old sony 10in subs pushed by a bazooka mono amp. The sonys sound awesome and have been in about 6 different cars in those 5 years and are still rockin I have actually went through 3 amps that blew with the same subs. Its not so much about what brands you use but how you piece the system together you need to get stuff that compliments the other stuff and not over power it. Its kinda like a car if you pick your mods right and have a good tune its awesome but if you dont and you have a bad tune it might work ok for a while but eventually its goona boom.

Have to agree with Smokinspeeds, I picked up pretty much my entire audio setup off ebay, tested and working fine, so, there are trust worthy places on there for sure. My subs worked out to about 2 for 1 getting them off ebay, so there are deals to be found.

The Sony products look good, true, performance-wise, they aren't as great as some other products out there, but to be honest, if you have a limited budget, and you want to have a system with some flash to it, not a bad consideration.

The 93 SE's came with a BOSE setup. If--**IF** you can find a junked SE with the system still in it, id go that route.

As for Ebaying it, prices are cheaper, but you take a gamble on the parts working. Some ppl, myself included, just dont have the time, money, or inclination for such a gamble.

Maybe i dont know the whole "story" behind audio, but i only have the Xplod HU. fatory 5.25's up front and Roadmaster 6x9's in the rear. And i have no problem. Id like to upgrade the fronts, if not using a DX setup(so i can have 6.5's), then i just wanna upgrade to a Sony or any brand of 5.25's.

I like to hear my shit, but at the moment, i have no need or urge to "BUMP".
