ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    BodyKit Questions

Hi guys. I was planning to a get bodykit that includes a spyder rear bumber. The problem is i've been trying to find a dual-pipe exhaust system to suit the two exhaust slots on the bumper but to no avail. So my question is would i be able to get a bodykit shop to custom make the same bumper but with one exhaust slot? And what would be the strongest but light material to make it out of? Cause fibreglass is way to fragile, i want something tough.

    #2
Ive never heard of anyone going through the manufacturer for a custom bumper. If they could custom make one for you I'm sure it would cost a lot more. Polyurethane is probably the strongest material that bumpers are made of. Its harder to crack and harder to fix then fiberglass. Id suggest just sticking with a fiberglass bumper and leaving the exhaust holes alone. If you have you mind set on a bumper with one exhaust slot I would go to a custom bodywork shop near you have them fill in the extra slot.

you could go to a local exhaust shop and get them to weld on a splitter for you...you, know, shaped like a y.

called y-pipes (if you want, do a quick google search "y pipe" and see what you'll find. it gave me alot of information)

then buy the extra piping, then go from there.

a few guys have dual exhaust on this site. i know a mod does. i can't remember his name, but the car is turbo, seattle silver, kitted, and fast. i'm sure he'll chime in sooner or later.

there are also guys running the rear bumpers that have slots for a dual exhaust, but are only running a single exhaust.

If you want to close up a hole, have it fiberglassed. Even if you get a urethane kit, a good shop should be able to make a fiberglass patch that will be flawless... and last, as long as you don't smack stuff with it!

I dont know now. After seeing my mates integra vti-r last night i dont know if i wanna go fibreglass or even a kit. A guy backed into his rear bumper two nights ago. It was only a small bump but his bumper has a massive hole in it now. What do you guys think? I know some of you guys will say its all up to me, but i wanna know if its better to kit the car or not?

If you like kits, kit the car. If you don't like kits, don't kit the car. Body damage has nothing to do with whether you kit the car or not. Somebody could back into your door and smash it in a parking lot. Does that make you want to drive around without doors?

well i previously had my car kitted and lowered, and i will tell u the two dont mix IMO.i dont know where u live, but i live in south fl and i would say its probably one of the most kit friendly places. even with that said it only took 8 months before i had destroyed my kit. i understand what Camurai is saying but keep in mind u will have to re-train yourself for driving with a car in that condition. for me, it took all the enjoyment out of driving my car cause i was to worried out something happening, u have to look out for anything and everything that could cause damage and u will learn quick that it could be something as dump as a soda can, but the really big deal is the tire shreds from semi's they will F ur shit up. my opinion is if u want a kit invest in one made of polyurethane (if u can still find one for our cars) and its going to be considerable more money. do some serious research before u make this decision cause i will tell u its alot of money to throw away if it gets wrecked.

heres what it used to look like................

Just to add...: I wanted a kit and I had some money to get it... So... Thats what I did.... Its always up to you as for what you do to your ride... Dont let what others think of your ride change how you do things... For me I wanted to look flashy and still be able to make kills on the street... So my H22 did make me happy.. It made for the "Show and Go" Title... Do what you can afford and what you over-all find is the best thing for you and your car..... On a side note: I am not going to be looking so flashy for long... I've been there done that... I plan on a better H22 set-up and a sleeper look... but still with a bit of class...

I think he wants that rear bumper, only with ONE exhaust cutout...

Polyurethane kits are best. I know P M had a poly Big Mouth front bumper from Wings West. That thing alone was like $400. Fiberglass kits are cheaper, and the cheapest of all kits will require some modification to fit (some of the more expensive kits need some as well). A kit is lower, more fragile (unless you go poly), and draws more attention than stock. Therefore, it IS a greater risk. Is it worth the risk to you?

Also, don't go cheap. If you can't afford to buy a good kit, get it properly fitted, paint it, and maintain it... Don't do it. Your car will look like crap because you halfassed things. Cheap kits don't fit well. Poorly fitted kits... duh... don't fit well. Unpainted kits will get you laughed at. Damaged kits look like ass... be prepared to repair or replace when something gets damaged. PRIMOCB7 used to repaint his front bumper every year.

See thats the thing Kit-To-Lip i dont wanna loose my my driving enjoyment. Here in australia the roads are alright but then you get places with steep driveways, high curbs(and not to mention the amount of hit-and-runs ppl do here). And sometimes i even tend to scrape my stock front bumper on these. Thats why i dont wanna worry all the time about the bumper fallin off all together. Does anyone have any pictures of hot stock body cb7's?
Thanks deevergote but i dont know anyone here that does custom kits like that. I wanna get the same kit as 91accord but in polyurethane.
