ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    bezel removal

Hi everyone, my name is matt, i'm new here but not new to the whole cb7 thing.
Anyway, I'm redoing the interior of my car in a month or so here and I have a few questions about the bezel removal. One of my best friend's has a cb7 that we had to remove the bezel off of as well as my dads 92 ex. It seems every time
It's removed it seems impossible to keep the vent springs in place, by vent springs I mean those things that keep your vents in one place when you tilt them up or down. They just seem to flap in the breeze on my dads 92 ex and my friends 92 lx. I'm painting my bezel and installing glow gauges here pretty soon, didn't know if anyone had any tricks to keeping those things in place during removal.

you mean keep those vents in place?

well, i did have to remove them using flat to installed my CF dash bezel..
taking all small screw out..end up taking the whole complete thing off to get to the Gauge Cluster..
and putting them back on later..i think thats more easier for me..

unless everyone done it in a different way

im not quite to sure what you mean by vent springs. theres two tits on each side to click the vent into the dash, and the flap contraption (in the back) is set up with a couple plastic arms that each flap tit clicks into. maybe you have to pull it out and re click the arms.

well i wasn't really sure they were springs, all i remember is hearing a sound like a spring letting loose and launching itself into the ducts. and when put back together, it's not a problem of the vents staying in the dash, its just when you go to tilt it up it doesn't stay up. Instead, it just falls back down.

sounds like you broke off one of the nubs that keep them in place or at least part of one. there are no springs in the dash vents they just pop in and out. i would check to make sure all the nubs are intact and maybe even check the holes in the bezel.
