so i was putting my bumper back on the other day, and when i was finished i noticed that there was a gap underneath my headlights and grill. now i was wondering, do i need someone to hold the bumper up the ENTIRE time while i re-adjust the retaining nuts behind the headlights and the bolts behind the signal lights? and all they need to do is pull the bumper upwards and push inwards right?

i had the same problem after i blackhoused my headlights.
i didn't have anybody to help me, so i didn't tighten the bolts all the way up, i only put them on there like half way. then i pushed each side up, and tightened that side up till i got a little resistance. then i'd do the other thing on the other side, then go back and forth untill it was completely tight. i know that didn't really make much sense...but i mean, it's what i did. it didn't fix the problem completely either. i still had the gap near the fenders.
here's the best picture of the gap, this is the night i dropped my front end.
here are a few more, just note how it's flush in the front, but not flush near the fenders.
but i guess, now that i think about it...the gap up in the front is the same as the gap in the back bumper..it was hit before i bought it...but im pretty sure that gap wasn't affected by the hit. the people gently backed into a tree or something it looks like. anyway, here's a picture of the rear gap, which like i said, looks the same as the one in the front.
and here's 2 pictures after i put those cheap-o black corners on. i didn't like the way they looked at all. haha. anyway, yeah. note the gap. this was after i tightened it up, by myself.

thx for all the info man. actually, i tried a variation of your method before. didnt work out for me. so wut do u suggest i do to get a tight fit all around with no flushes, and absolutely no gaps?My 1992 honda accord LX 5 spd.

our cars are 15-18 years old lol, I think if you removed something that hasnt been touched for that long and tried to put it back there might be some complications.
