Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

I know mine were 195/60/15 stock...and technically you could recalibrate your speedo....anything is possible. Not worth it though. As far as running different tire sizes in front and back....I just wouldn't. It works ok on drag racing cars because they don't have to turn. However, I do anything I can do to NOT screw with my car's center of gravity. Aside from making it lower, of course.

im running wider rims at the back, hence the 225/45. but they are very much similar in rolling diameter as the front 205/50

Stock rim/tyre sizes depend on trim and market.

my car came 165/R14 from the factory. No joke. It says so on the door sill.

So does that mean those stock Accords with different stock wheels have speedometers calibrated differently? That would be interesting.

I also forgot about about the door sill. I remember checking once but I simply forgot about it.

        NICE

and I think the tires have a similar enough diameter to be the same speedo calibration, I think it's more of the tread width and sidewall size that changes....but I might be wrong

          question answered bro.

extra width increases grip (and drag) and the car looks mighty fine sitting on fat wheels!

oh, and the PCD is 114.3, thus bolt pattern is 4 x 114.3

Yes. They may be similar but a slight difference still remains.

Between 185/70/14 and 195/60/15 is a difference of 0.081% in what the speedometer shows and is too small to be even noticed indeed.

I also just checked my door sill and my stock tire size is 195/60/15. So I guess some 205/45/17 would be close enough.

A little wider would've been good for more road contact and besides the difference is still acceptable.

              With 205/45/17 there's only a difference of 0.21% in the speedometer while with 215/45/17 the difference is of. 1.63%. 60miles/hour = 59miles/hour

Even better. 225/40/17 (0.54%) but I guess it would cause rubbing problems correct?

This will give you an Idea of the difference you will see.

I run a 205/40R17 and it's pretty damn close to what I run MPH wise.
You might want to check your figures again. By plugging in a 195/60R15 (the stock tire size on the vast majority of CB Accords) and a 205/40R17, you'll find that when your speedometer reads 65mph, you're actually traveling at 62.99mph. There's a difference of .75" in total diameter between the two. When you change the second size to a 205/45R17, you end up with a tire that is within .050" in total diameter, and at 65mph indicated speed, you're traveling at 65.13mph. I'd say that's pretty well within tolerances of the average speedometer.

It would depend on A) how much your suspension has been lowered and B) your chosen wheel package. With a carefully chosen offset and wheel width, you can run a 225mm tire without fender rub.

hey, if the speedometer is off, that just gives me plausible deniability when I get pulled over for speeding

seriously though, I think it would be interesting to see exactly how accurate our speedometers actually are

Ignorance is no excuse, as any officer will be happy to tell you while he's writing you a ticket. Been there, done that.

I ran 215/45-17 with a +40 offset and absolutely loved it. However, I did slightly rub on hard corners with someone in the back seat. I don't know if that was due to a worn UCA on that side though.

I never noticed my speedometer being drastically off with the larger tires, as it always read ~2 mph high.

Rugged man....I feel your pain though. I've been there once or twice myself.

Has anyone actually ever done a test to see how far off their speedometer is? With a radar gun, or maybe using a stopwatch, cruise control, and the mile markers on the highway?

I haven't, but when the local constabulary has their roadside speed sign set up (Your speed is: 45 MPH) I noticed in my last vehicle (1998 Mazda B4000) that when I was doing 35, the sign read 30-31mph. Haven't seen one since I bought the Coupe.
