ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Hey, New @ CB7...

Hey, I'm new here at cb and I was thinking...
I always wanted to remove the rear seats for a little less weight, but the gaping whole looked kinda wack. So, I was wondering if anybody heard of or seen anything like a fiberglass or cf cover for the hole and/or the bottom piece of the seat. Kinda like a seat eliminator I've never done any fiberglass work , so there's a %100 chance I would mess something up.
So, tell me what you think about this.

Feel free to post pics of what you have done to the back of the interior, I'd be happy to see them

Doesn't sound too bad, not sure if anyone has done it yet. You can try it and post some pictures for us...

yeah i would say cover it with carpet if u wanna lose weight.if u wanna go for looks costom fiberglass but pointless for weight after adding a couple of layers of fiber and bondo that shit gets heavy fast.besides those rear seats dont weigh that much try takin weight off the front of car more unles u gotta sub setup in ya trunk u know to feep better balance on the car from front 2 rear just a thought.

i actually had this same idea but i completed it, being in school for custom fab. kinda helps. made a huge sub box outta the back seats. 6 15" alpine type R subs. pushing 3000W each peak 1500W RMS.

Piece of wood nailed in? lol....I love bootleg looking.
I have seen using sub box to fill the hole before, but it gets loud.

Sounds like this is the way to go... It's all good, I'll prob keep my orig interior unless I see a set in leather.
                          Thanks Guys

If I remember right, I saw a thing on TV about early mustang muscle cars where a deleted rear seat was a dealer option.

It was replaced with a thin piece of plywood, covered with carpet, and had some light weight luggage rack bars type bars on it for stiffening. Supposedly it weighed less than the stock rear seat and framing. Only for hatchbacks though if I'm still remembering it right.

Still it might be something to look into for inspirational material at least if ya wanna do a factory/dealer "deleted rear seat" look.

Not worth the effort. I would just keep the seats in. Thats just me.
