ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Ok so i was taking off my Legend lip tonight to install a new lip and decided to take pictures of how my tabs were cut and where i drilled to bolt the lip on. Sorry for the camera phone pics.

I only used 6 Nuts and bolts to attach my lip on.
Here's a picture of the passenger side. The driver side is identical.

Here are some pictures of how i cut and drilled the tabs.

This is where i drilled the holes in my bumper. Basically i just lined up the lip after i cut the tabs and then drilled thru the lip and bumper at the same time with a small diameter drill bit. Then i went back and made a bigger hole in both the lip and bumper to fit the bolt i was using.

    Outer driver side bracket closup

    Inner passenger side bolted

    Middle passenger side bolted

    Outer passenger side bolted

This is how flush my Legend lip was to the ends of my bumper.

Here is the hardware i used to mount my lip. They're 1" 10mm nuts and bolts.

Yes, the coupe lip bows out a little if you go from outside in.

You didnt mold it to the bumper. I can see it stick out in the corners. I can also se it bowing out slightly.

Im not trying to bash you at all (in fact yours is one of my favorite cars here), Im just telling it like it is. I was the third person on this site with a legend coupe lip, so I know what the lip does.

yeah I just did this Legend Coupe lip install on my car. I previously had the Legend Sedan lip since I couldn't find one at the JY for the longest time. But then I DID, for 5 bucks!

Yeah it wasn't as easy to install as everyone says. You still have to shave off some of the inner portion a bit, I used my dremel on that part. And then I started by drilling the two outside holes for the lip to line up w/ the edges of the bumper. Then I worked my way toward the center. The hardest part was making the lip mold to the curve of the bumper so it doesn't "bow" out like wafflefries said. I had to push it to make it line up w/ the bumper's curve then I drilled a hole at that position and inserted two screws on each side. I then put a bolt through that second tab from the edge. Then worked my way to the final tab in the middle of the lip. And it seemed to have worked out pretty well. All in all I drilled 6 holes for the bolts/nuts and fender washers. I used 2 fender washers each bolt, to distribute the load for strength and locking nylon nuts. The bolts I would say are an inch long or so 7/16" head. i'll post pics tomorrow of it in the day time.

Here's the pics of how the lip looks. I think I did a pretty good job of lining it up:
