ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    legend coupe lip.....

i thought these things where suppose to bolt right up???? i bought an oem lip for a 92 coupe.... shit was no where near bolting right up... was 2-3 inches to wide i cut some out of the middle to make it work but still the tabs where no where close to bolting up i endded up cutting all to boltting tabs off... fiberglassed it together on the inside of the bumper but got about a 1/4 inch gap from where i cut out of the middle.... well fix that tomorrow but i was really wantting something that just bolted right up.... oh well its on there now and it will be fixed the rest of the way tomorrow... and yes i bought it for a 2door made sure it was for a coupe before i ordered and it is a oem chin lip and not an aftermarket.... just figured i would let everyone know that "mine" wasnt a direct bolt on....

I dont think they actually bolt right on. I think you have to make new holes to put it on.

yea i know the sedan had alot of mods you had to do to get them to fit but from what i heard on here the coupe lips should have been a easy 30 min job.... HAHA nope didnt happen that way so i had to do it my way like i said i had to cut about 2 1/2 inches out of the middle for it to be close.... something i didnt want to do considering i had to pay some cash to get one.... it was brand new too oh well hope it holds up to my 3 inch front drop LOL

What year Legend is the lip you got off of? I believe the 91-95 Legend Coupe lip is very close to direct bolt on, just some bending and screwing.. Shouldnt be any cutting.

I was under the impression that it's bending only. Maybe you got a sedan by mistake? Not like you chose the sedan, but were given a sedan. I dunno.

why didn't you just return it and wait to find out what worked before you cut it? was it plastic or fiber glass? if it was that flexy plastic stuff i don't think your fiber glass will hold up because its not very flexable and it dosn't stick good to any thing but wood and other fiberglass, just my experance. they make a special repair prouduct for abs and flexable parts. they sell it at auto body paint stores kind of spendy but its the best stuff to use. duramix fusor 3m even has 1. just my two cent though.

it was bought for a 92 legend coupe direct oem part...
no matter how i bent or screwed it would have had a 3 inch gap somewhere so i had to cut.... here some pics....

hmmm... I also have a legend coupe lip and mine bolted straight on with no problems. I did it pretty quick so it does need to be lined up to the bumper better, but other than that, its was 4 screws into the bumper and it was on.

Seems like a mix up in shipping. At least I hope so. I've been looking at a 90-91 lip. If I get it and it fits perfectly I'll let ya know.

I have a coupe lip and this is one reason I didn't install it yet. It was off on both sides (ends) by about an inch. Was also a little wider than my bumper. Don't know what I want to do now.

it looks right to me but u have to bend it and work with it a little it dosent literally bolt right up the legend bumper isnt the same as the accord but close enough to work with but no cutting should have been involved

oh and as far as the sedan lip no mods needed to fit it either my bolted right up with a little bending the only bad thing about the sedan is its about 1/2 an inch to short on each side

                            Here's my lip from a 92 coupe.

I started by bolting the lip on both sides and worked my way towards the center of the bumper. I had to trip parts of the tabs off in order to have it line up. Never had to cut the lip in half or anything.

yours came in the same honda box as mine.... did you get a part number with yours?? mine was too wide for the bumper like you said about a inch on each side i guess i got a sedan lip but i already started messin with it so i will just finish the one i got sedan or not

if you got a part number on your packaging slip??? mine was 71110-sp1-000 ordered for a 92 legend coupe everything checks out on my packaging slip so i dunno

and if i did happen to get a sedan lip then mine atleast its not going to be short on both ends i will make it look right anyways i hated to cut a brand new part in half though..... oh well its gettin painted anyways
