ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    H.I.D. questions

ok i have like a 2 part question. first off what would be a good H.I.D.kit to get?. i have searched a few but it seems like they're all the same pretty much. I know alot of you might have this setup so wheres a good place, brand to purchase them. Is there also a DIY on installation?. i thought i saw one on here but now i cant find the one i was looking for. And lastly, i know mostly everyone has bashed the hell out of the projector 'bug eyes' headlights, and im a fan of the one piece jdms myself, but, i was wondering since people have stated that those lamps arent that bright; could an H.I.D. kit be put on those? h1, h4? sorry if i have slacked on just resaerching this but i was really wondering if anyone has h.i.d.eed those projector headlights. thanks

I purchased my set off visionbulbs.com back in 2004 and they still work. I changed the bulbs from 8000k to 3000k using the same set of ballast, they give a 3 year warranty which I haven't seen any other company do, most of them will give you a year and they also have instructions on how to install.

Also McCullog and phillips are very good sets although I don't think phillips makes plug and play setups anymore I'm not sure, I know a company makes projectors for retrofitting I don't know of anyone that has tried them most people stick to TSX, MDX and E46 projectors.

    Hope that helps.

I have owned 2 sets of HID's, and let me tell you: they are not all the same. The first set I owned was McCulloch HID's with McCulloch bulbs. They were brighter then shit, awesome visability.

Then I got my Prelude, and bought HID bulbs. This seller on ebay tried to pass the bulbs that it came with as McCulloch's. They came in an unmarked box, and the quality SUCKED. They didn't fit in the housings, they weren't as bright, and when I turn them off, and turn them back on quickly, they don't work until they cool off. Thats why its better to buy from a McCulloch dealer. They are awesome bulbs though.

They are much brighter and will give you better vision, also they look very good compared to regular bulbs.

On the negative side the stock housing wasn't made for HIDs so you will get glare and wont have a crisp cutoff point, and if your healights are not aligned properly like mine are right now you will blind and piss people off.

35W is about what most of the bulbs will be in brightness.

The "K" rating is just color ratings. The higher the color the more colorful the light output will be. The brightest of all the "k's" is 4300k. Those are found on all oem hid equiped cars.

I have tsx projectors and phillips d2s 4300k bulbs and they are way brighter than any other bulbs.

8000k is NOT the brightest. Its just the color.
