ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Mudflaps: Functional vs Appearance

I hope this goes here and I searched but found nothing pertaining to the functionality of mudflaps. Do they help the car or not? I think my car looks good with them but when i go over speedbumps they scrape, so if i take them off the scraping will stop but will they help the car or damage it with rust build up? I heard that they make rust build up behind there and i've heard that they stop the rust. Which is it?

Thniking locicaly I think they would help rust. The water wouyld leak down into there and slowly start to eat the metal.

    My idea on it....Anyone else?

all the mudflaps do is keep dirt from getting on the side of your bumper and fender and it also help other's by not letting the dirt and particle you pick up hit them cuzz the mudflap will stop and as far as looks goes i think our cb's look weird with out them, i dont know if this happened to other but my front left fender mudflap fell of and the paint on the fender was peeled of and i had a black outline of the mudflap on my fender so i had to put the mudflap back on

Mudflaps, as mentioned, do help to keep the side of the car cleaner (obviously in water/dirt). I also think they look better on than off. I know what you mean though, mine scrape... but they are soft rubber so its not a big deal.

Not from my experiences coming up north and seeing other peoples cars driving around.

I took mine off and have no negative experience as a result of it....the paint on the side of my car is straight and no rust. IMO it gives the car a cleaner look

I am rocking 18's with 40 offset and dont really get alot slung up on the side of my car...no more than usual!

i like my mudflaps, they help hide the rust

plus in Stoney Creek, ON, it'll be helpful on wet roads.

I like the look of my car without the mudflaps but i wish i had them back on because they were functional in keeping mud/dirt/etc from getting on the side of my car. Whats worse is because my car is white its noticeable instanty when i drive through some crap.

so i guess maybe i'll take a look to see if there is any rust build up. if not off they come, if there is they will stay lol

I think they look good on and besides when you clean your car and armor all the tires it helps to keep that tire shine off of the sides of your car. It always happens when you start to take off it slowly will sling off the tire. It also does have a nice apperace to it. I hear you on the scraping when you go over speed bumps. All I would say is hang in there it will eventually scrape itself down and if you are impatient about it then just get a demel and cut a little bit of it off rather then take the whole thing off.

Im for both. They look good on some, especially with a drop

But at the same time, they can look kinda cheesy and outta place. Plus, i think little streak of "dirty-water" splash kinda looks good on a car. I mean, a clean car looks good too, but i dunno. I took mine off cuz i thought they looked too cheesy, but ive seen some nicely dont mudflaps.

As for functionality , they make the car look less dirty especially during rainy days then the sun comes up. Without mudflaps will make the car dirty especially that mus splash look lol..

I like em on. I have 2 inch drop and I abuse em by scraping.

I scrape em like a gangsta. I lay out sparks on them haha..

Well, my coupe came with only the front so it looked kinda wierd. I just got some today and it really helped the look, esp w/ my legend front lip, IMO, the more crap you have hanging, the lower your car looks lol. Plus i was getting pissed since i run wider 215 tires, every time i went over a little puddle, my rear bumper was dirtified.
