ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

A little ( big ) problem...

Yes I have the same problem man and I've gone to a few places and got quotes and whatnot. From Maaco I can get the quarter panel pieces for 155 Canadian and its about 5 hours labor per side to get them put on. I'll save myself some money though because a performance shop here in Saskatoon can get me the body parts for 66 bucks a side instead. Try going to performance parts shops that can order in body parts as well because most body shops don't care if you supply the parts and stuff yourself.

heres a guy selling them on here:

also try pm'ing noxidea, he sells them, or at least he used to, not sure if he still does.

bodywork varies from area to area, reputation of shop, hell, even time of the year. Thats why they give you estimates. Most bodyshops will work for less if in a dry spell (like during the winter when no ones really getting any work done)
a basic collision center should be able to weld or mold your new patch panels in, but i would trust a reputable body shop to do the work because they're standards of perfecting the work are most likely higher, and not to mention their paint quality is probably higher as well. Find a shop in your area that all the local "enthusiasts" trust and get an estimate.

Yeah any collision center or body shop will happily give you an estimate but you are looking roughly between 2 grand and up to 5 grand depending which place and time of year an so on. That is what I have found from going around to a bunch of body shops/collision centers in town. When you think about it though by taking the money you would spend on the body work and the money your car is worth you could probably sell your car and find another one thats either newer, has no rust or both. Really its up to you and how attached you are to your car.Last edited by Harrison; 04-12-2007, 01:00 AM.

I know of people who have paid more for the same work.

thats what im saying. people on here thow out estimates they've recieved as if its a universal standard. It's nice to get a ballpark but each quote could vary +- couple hundred.
of course, you could also get a friend thats good with bodywork or someone who's good just not employed anywhere to do it in their garage and save $$$

i asked around, this georges autobody shop will do it for 1K both, and this collision repair center will do it for 2K both. I say F that, and im gona use Caulk gun 2:1 and rig it so i can just put it on with bondo, cuz i can cut it with a jigsaw ..but yeah i need a full quarter tho, cuz its rusting near my rear taillight so..and my gas cap, and inside the door thingy. so i dunno.

Well because I am in the Navy reserve I make all my money in the summer so before I leave I will do the best I can with Rust Killer and Bondo. But after I get back from training I will buy a new hood, trunk lid, quarters and that little rectangular piece that goes under your tail light and get a body shop to put them on and paint my whole car. As well spend at least 5 or 6 hours working on the other minor surface rust. But before I do that I will probably look around for a CB7 with no rust and If I find one of those I might just buy it and have it painted.
