ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Vinyl and Fabric paints

Ok, I've read, read, and read some more, and alot of people use the duplicolor vinyl and fabric paint on their car's seats. I have used this stuff on my door panels and speaker covers, and it holds up great. On the other hand, I've used it on my center console, and it scapes off easily.

So, to clear up all the uncertainty, could everyone that has used this stuff on their car seats please reply? I just want to know(and probably quite a few people) once and for all if its good for seats and holds up, or if it just rubs off eventually.

If theres anyone thats had it on their seats for a good amount of time, please tell how theyve stood up to the wear of getting and and out of the car, and rubbing, etc.

im not sure about durablility, but i do know that it makes the fabric stiff. I remember reading about someone wire brushing the seat, respraying, etc... till they were satisfied.

i would expect it to hold up as well as anything that gets rubbed constantly. I imagine some parts of your seats will fade and rub off quicker then others depending on how you get in and out of your car etc....

yea, i know you have to brush it every direction for it to soak in and stay softer, I talked to the guys at my local auto paint store, and they said they weren't sure about the duplicolor stuff for fabrics as far as reliability. They recommended SEM color coat, which "soaks" into the fabric's fibers, or so they said. But still, the duplicolor stuff is cheaper and easier to find, so I want to know if it will come off over time, or if it truly soaks into the fabric do kind of "dye" it.

Wouldnt something that dyes it be better? I seen a guy die his carpet and seats looked brand new but he had fumes in his car for weeks funny as crap. Looked great though
