ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    Original Colors

I just recently purchased a 90 CB7 and it is pretty much perfect except for the fact that it has a really cheap paintjob on it and since I've always been rather partial to some of the factory colors, I would like to know what the paint codes are for that particular model, because I would like to get the car back into original shape, could anyone help me with that one?

    Thanks

The original color code will be in the door jam, drivers side.

the 92-93 had some nice colors, with clear coat, personally i like the Rosewood Brown Metallic. The 90-91 Cappuccino wasnt that great looking i dont think, also some of the Greens look really nice.

                      Color names?

What is up with these paint names? Candy wine? Hampshire Green Metallic? I guess that makes since as whenever I think of the word Hampshire, I think money...

I guess for an excessively color blind guy, like myself, using the simple cmyk color system would be much easier. Need a name? Call it red, green white, dark gray, light gray, etc. The additional adjectives just sound pretentious...

I have a green 1, but the previous owner got a cheap 199.00 imitation honda green pait job. The clear coat is coming up or peeling I don't know what you call it, but it is ugly. I think I will just sand off the clear until I can get it painted.

That would be easier but what about the different shades of blue, red, green, yellow etc?

They have weird name for the same reason Coca Cola has a patent on a color. Marketing reasons. Thats what I can think of.

Consumer - Oh my, look at that cute little blue car.
Sales Guy - Ma'am, that automobile's color is called Blue Ribbon Metallic and is only produced this year, it is a rare occurence.

The crazy names sounds a lot better than just..white, red....etc. We could always just say, "My car colour is #FFFFFF" or, "I'm thinking of painting my car #339933...ect. That'd be sweet...lol.

i believe that is the colour of my car i need to some places of it repaint and was thinking about doing it myself. Except i can't find places that can replace that colour. Besides getting those dinky ones from the dealership. Do u have to go to a paintshop to get it mixed for you now since that colour really isn't made onto cars these days?
