Break Lamp Trouble

So yea basically my break lamp doesnt work when i press on the break. its the right side and the spoiler. Interesting enough when i press on the breaks while the car is off. The lights apparently work, is there like a short curcuit? dont get why when the car is off it works and when the car is on it doesnt.

Any suggestion, dont really feel like going to a shop to get a small thing done and pay a ridiculous price.

what about with headlights on? parking lights? Ummm all i can say is check ALL bulbs, clean out the sockets the bulbs go in and if that doenst work take a look at the brake fail sensor(brown and black box mounted to the tail light assem) those tell the cluster when the bulbs are out but if they go out them selves it could cause probs so check all that and fuses...could be a wire that is snagged up somewhere...do your tails leak water?

When the parking brakes are on they both are on. Its just when i press on the brakes only the left side comes on. same thing goes with the headlights.

there's a pin that activate the switch ,make sure it's not broken.

I had a similar problem. I just went through the wiring and unpluged the haresses one by one and pluged them together again and my brake gremlin was gone.!!!
When you say same with your headlights, do you mean, your headlights go out as well, or just the brake lights?
