ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    JDM Appearance Questions

I've been getting a few IM's and e-mails from misc members on this board about some of the parts on my car. So i'll explain some of them.

    1) JDM License Plate

No you can't drive around with these legally in some states. I've recently got a fix-it ticket worth a $781 dollar fine or can be corrected for $20. The reason being is because california is starting to put lots of "camera lights" all over and having the front plate be different is just like running through a toll booth with dealership plates....in other words they won't be able to catch you.

    2) Rear bumper sidemarkers

The makers I have on my car are from a 2000 Accord Coupe. These are the same markers that appear on 92-96 preludes, 94-97 accords, and 98-02 Accord Coupes. Acura Legend Coupes also have these but they are a different design and are oval shaped.

These markers aren't really a jdm option for a CB accord. CB's never came with these lamps in the rear.

These only appeared on CD 94-97 Accords as a safety reflector because of the tailamp design. Its more of a stylish thing just like the EDM rear fog mod. The purpose of the rear sidemarkers are for cars that don't have "side reflex reflectors on the tailamps. The purpose of the reflector is just like a biycle wheel reflector. If a car at night shines it's lights on the object it will "reflex" and shine back. This is one of the main reasons why "altezza" tailamps when they first came out weren't D.O.T. approved for some vehicles because they deleted the tailamps built-in side reflex reflector. The real JDM Altezza never had side reflex markers mounted in the rear bumper, however for the US market IS300 they came equipped with them.

    J-spec Altezza
You can see the japanese market version is clean with no rear marker... why leave out the safety measure?? I don't know. Maybe it's the costs but the same thing can be said about fender sidemarkers for the US-cb's... why did honda take those out when it's a good safety feature?

    US-spec IS300

That said, it would be a awesome mod for looks or if you happen to be equipped with some real stanley JDM tailamps because they are missing the built in reflex reflector.

I disagree with the rear fog style comment....
It serves a purpose when used correctly....its a rear fog light. Now i understand that most people will add it for style..i did...but i also want it for nasty weather conditions as an added saftey feature...much like the reflectors you were talking about.

And the reason why they left out the reflectors in Altezza's were because Japan doesnt have as strict road regs as the Us does....just my .02

      i agree here.

just to restate japan specs don't require front amber "reflex" reflectors nor rear red "reflex" reflectors. that's why going j-spec looks cleaner b/c there are no obtrusive colors to break the clean lines.

the reflectors do help especially in locating cars that are perpendicular to your view (meaning their front or rear ends are not facing you, such as one parked on a cross street. if there were no lighting it would be hard to see a car parked there w/o those reflectors. again they are just a us-spec design. my j-spec taillights omit those built-in "reflex" reflectors.

kurobei just installed them to change up his style, much like myself installing clear sidemarkers instead of the typical amber ones everyone uses. if i'd install those rear reflectors i would wire em up to blink with the signal .

In NC where I live, at night it gets so foggy that you can only see about 15-20 ft. in front of you, and driving on the back road highways it is so dark that the side reflectors, and the rear fogs would be a great help. I do plan to put two rear fogs, and get some reflectors off the 5th gen. Accords, one for styling, but mostly for safety. I don't ever want to hear,"I couldn't see him." when I have working rear lamps, rear fogs, AND rear reflectors.
The same goes with the sidemarkers, It lets people see from the side where your turning. I already avoided an accident b/c of them; some idiot decided to pull in where I was turning and slammed his brakes b/c he saw my markers.
Safety lights = looking good and keeping you visible.
